Note
(rest day)

Not that there's any training going on. I might bail on AP for the rest of the year. Can barely function at the moment. No sleep. Picked up meds in Gunnison that a friend called in. When they wear off the pulse in my tooth is insane. Crested Butte and back. Not too enamored with CB. Very dated in the resort (reminded me of Avoriaz). Old town is nice. Found out the footie season is going to be a month longer, so the op will be put back to mid November. Probably no skiing this year. Meanwhile I'm morphing into Mr. Creosote and I can't eat.

Feel like death. Good result against Montrose.

Note

Walked into town and rode my bike back from a service. Was left scratching my head a tad. They repaired and replaced stuff and the bike works great. But it's the first time I've ever got a bike back as filthy as I gave them it. In Guisborough I pay $70 and a bit of Muc-off later I'm more than happy. Today paid $90 got pads and rear wheel repaired and felt shafted. I'd have happily paid more if my chainring, cassette and shocks weren't still covered in the fine dust that destroys everything. Now I'll have to go on line and sort some product out.
Side note....Terrible toothache on top of other worrisome pains. Might be time to get a GP and physical. Not had one for over 10 years. I was aiming to put it off as a 50th birthday present to myself.

Note
(rest day)

Of sorts.

Running 54:58 [3] 8.7 km (6:19 / km) +165m 5:46 / km

Light jog up to Ames on Galloping Goose. I've found this is the perfect incline. Nice up hill. Bearable going down. Strange one this. A bull had strayed on to the path. I had to edge my way around him twice. I think he could smell fear.
On another crazy note, my path crossed a family of stetson wearing crazies on the way to pick up my kids from school. One was carry a pistol under his armpit. I couldn't help but laugh at him (and he knew who I was giggling at). Seriously, does he think Butch Cassidy's about to rob him? Literally....only in America.

Running 25:34 [3] 4.03 km (6:21 / km) +142m 5:23 / km

5x1/2 mile hills. (jogged). Done on Illium to Lawson Hill. Even jogged some of the descent. Knee pain there, but currently tolerable. This can change quickly.

Note

Just walked about today. Took Eadie to Ouray for a XC meet where she reveled in coming last place. She messed about at the back with her friend. There were a few choice words said on the return journey. Three hours in the car for my kid to put zero effort in made my blood boil. Hopefully the seven hour round trip to Crested Butte on Sunday will result in a different amount of effort. Kids eh...who'd have 'em?

Note

Eadie's first actual school day today. First since March 15th. Dropped off the Specialized to get serviced and tubeless stem fixed. (Yep, I'm lazy). Walked town. Going to give the knee a short run out before Practice tonight. Feels good walking.

Note

After an AP tip off watching Get Duked. A "classic" orienteering documentary. Highly entertaining.
5 PM

Running 7:31 [3] 0.81 km (9:20 / km) +62m 6:44 / km
ahr:144 max:159

Up to the elbow on Bear Creek while Eadie trained. Knee sort of holds up going up hill. Cannot cut on grass, downhill is shaky, flat running is painful.
