Sunday Feb 21 #

10 AM

Running 51:17 [3] 8.05 km (6:22 / km) +78m 6:05 / km
ahr:158 max:173

Z3 in Illium on 5" of powder. Bewt of a morning.
NB. Yesterday I was pretty certain we'd seen a Canada Lynx. This has now been disappointedly downgraded to a Bobcat. Only because the former are usually found above 9000'. We were at 6500'. It looked a bit different this one.

Saturday Feb 20 #

(rest day)

I switched the Steady run to tomorrow, knowing I was taking Kendal to Purgatory for a race and thinking the storm was coming at 2pm not 5pm. Knee feels funky today. Feels like I've tweaked my medial ligament. Had a bit of a calf pull on same leg (left) yesterday, but that's nashed off.

Friday Feb 19 #

1 PM

Nordic (skate) 1:07:54 [3] 12.26 km (5:32 / km) +50m 5:26 / km
ahr:105 max:151

No bairns this afternoon so went for a skate on the Valley Floor. Cracking afternoon and the snow was much more manageable. Kept my breathing under control so an easier (still hard!!) effort.
NB. Chatted to my new "life coach" Tom. Gleaned some valuable nuggets from him on how to progress skiing. Also found out that my youngest is never having another sleepover again, ever, after being castigated for not allowing her to dye her hair or pierce her ears. Maybe I should invite everyone else's kids over here and have a tattoo party?

Thursday Feb 18 #

10 AM

Running 38:32 [3] 6.47 km (5:58 / km) +90m 5:34 / km
ahr:145 max:164

3x7mins. down in Illium. I don't seem to be able to turn my legs over fast enough to get my HR up. All starts with the pelvic area.

Wednesday Feb 17 #

9 AM

Nordic (skate) 33:59 [3] 4.71 km (7:13 / km) +19m 7:04 / km
ahr:94 max:135

From Shell to Town. Torture. -10C very slow. Maybe I need to start using snake oil on the planks.

Running 46:27 [3] 6.44 km (7:12 / km) +96m 6:43 / km
ahr:161 max:175

Not sure my HR is accurate for this. Going to put a new battery in the monitor. Very easy in Illium towards Ames.
NB. Knee did something funky getting into the car, so I did what any Trump supporter does with facts and ignored it.

Tuesday Feb 16 #

(rest day)

Shoveled at 3:30am. (To take A.M to the airport). Hasn't stopped dumping all day. Decided to switch today's shuffle to tomorrow.

Monday Feb 15 #

11 AM

Running 32:02 [3] 4.11 km (7:47 / km) +34m 7:29 / km
ahr:159 max:180

Very easy on fat bike trail. Not sure HR monitor is functioning correctly. Knee is magic. Deliberately avoiding tarmac until the surgeon says I can actually run again.

Road Bike (Turbo) 30:07 [3] 12.52 km (2:24 / km)
ahr:135 max:180

Easy watching the Mags capitulate. Finished early to get the bairns from the mountain.
