Very easy on aching limbs. Slept great all things considered. Horrible mattress and had both bairns with me on a queen.
NB. I forgot a quirky scenario on this mornings run. I was stuck at a Pelican Crossing (for Tom's translation... Crosswalk at a traffic light, as opposed to a crosswalk without a traffic light...Zebra Crossing. Think Abbey Rd.) Knowing the Jaywalk Laws around here, I stopped and waited patiently for two minutes as zero cars came past. While I waited I watched some film on a 42" tele with a homeless lad. 30 secs in I realised...Hang on....how's this lad got power? I followed the cable and found he'd plugged into the city's decorations. Brilliant!! And I was worried about crossing an empty street and getting fined. Everywhere I go in America I find these baffling contradictions. I remember 10 years ago. I took an old teacher to Telluride after his Cancer op. The whole time he was here I was making sure him and his wife were recycling right. They then found out the streets were heated. He exclaimed "Danny Lad! You soft bugger, you're here saving the world and everyone here is heating tarmac. You Whazak!" (All in his Yorkshire twang). Life's funny. Maybe I'll just run the lights from now on.
