Note

Need to figure out a target race. Thinking Coke Races in Durango.

Alpine Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Out earlier due to no footie. First time in 17days. (I'm getting the shakes.) Wonderful morning. 6" of powder, just nice.
NB. 30 mins shoveling.
NNB. Friday, Saturday and Sunday should see 1/2 the mountain fully open. Unfortunately, 400+ people from Arizona are coming into town. University ski club.
4 PM

Nordic (skate) 54:53 [3] 8.67 km (6:20 / km) +104m 5:58 / km
ahr:130 max:145

Trout Lake while Eadie did Club. Dying. Another 6" on the groomed stuff. Red paraffin on the skis. White out conditions so wore my goggles. One of Eadie's group yelled, "hey dude, that's genius". Yep...that's me dude.
NB. Waxed the whole stable of skis today. 11 pairs. Hopefully I'm going to get better at this. Wax everywhere.

Alpine Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Hit the mountain late after the WC game went to penners. Forgot my poles, but wasn't phased. Just cruised the cruiser. Met a lad on the chair who works for Patagucci. Nice lad. Found out later I'd met his Mrs. in the Brewery a couple of nights ago. Love this town.
1 PM

Nordic (skate) 1:12:57 [3] 11.9 km (6:08 / km) +150m 5:46 / km
ahr:130 max:148

Magical. The perfect day. Woke up with a slight niggle in the footbed. Otherwise my body was a temple. Obviously running has been completely smashing my rotund physique for years, but 10 days off and I feel young again. After eating a burrito, hitting the slope (yep, singular on both) and watching Morocco batter Spain, I went to Trout Lake. Whiteout conditions in places. 3" of fresh powder and nobody else present. I thought skating would be stupid. I was wrong. (Not the first time ever, but I'm sure readers and orienteers would be surprised by this). Worked on my sparrow's arms going up and my ballet glide going down the escarpment.
NB. Life's pretty good at the moment. (Edited as my dad said "unacceptable!") So apologies!

Alpine Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

Got on the mountain after PT. Footpad definitely doesn’t like Turf. Just exhausted today. Might take the whole week off running.

Note
(rest day)

Weekend at CMU With Olympic Development Programme (Mountain Select). Long weekend with the U11 Boys and juggling my bairns to their sessions. Brilliantly organised all of us enjoyed it.
NB. If there had been a target race I’d have still got up early to train, but being tired I took the sleep. Missed the England game, but all the 10 year olds kept me informed on their water breaks. Great bunch of lads.

Nordic (skate) 47:13 [3] 8.98 km (5:15 / km)

Near perfect conditions at Trout Lake. I wasn't feeling great though. Used yellow snake oil on skis at 2C. Seemed pretty good.
3 PM

Running 40:47 [3] 6.22 km (6:33 / km) +51m 6:18 / km
ahr:122 max:136

Easy down Vance. Two pit stops. Felt horrible by the end. Just not feeling it at the moment.
