Running49:00 8.0 km (6:08 / km) shoes: Saucony Excursion 11
Brisk run along the SJAM trails. Remic>Lemieux>Westboro Beach>just past Remic to make up the 8 km distance. Lovely hard-packed trail, perfect temp. (-12C, slight breeze). Broke in my new Saucony trail shoes - very comfortable, so really no 'break in' at all! Francis was out there too doing a 10km run; didn't see him, but did pass Gord M. (running) twice! Only a few people skiing.
Fantastic skate ski along the SJAM, while Francis ran. Started at Remic Rapids>Lemieux>Kitchisippi Woods loop>Westboro Beach, then did the entire thing in reverse. Fast, hard packed, a bit of ice in some spots, but beautifully groomed from KWoods west. Found my groove after about a 3km warm-up hahaha! Gorgeous sunny day, no wind to soeak of, -3C. Who could ask for anything more?
Really tired and sore today, so just did the first four exercises to loosen up and stretch a bit. Nasty tired and yuck. Knew I’d be walking to the Training Comm. meeting, so took it easy. Blah.
Walking42:00 4.0 km (10:30 / km)
Walked to IKEA for the training commitee meeting, then walked back afterwards, so ~ 2 X 2 km. Severely windy today: our new gate came down in the late afternoon, and trees came down in the woods, one of which wrecked a bridge. Things were really icy, so I wore my Yaktrax :)
The usual, with cuff and balancing and knees. The usual playlist :)
Hard core shovelling 2:00:00
... but reallymore like snow, slush, and ice management. We worked hard to mitigate meltwater from pooling and flowing into the basement thru windows. Lots of ice chopping, gravel transport, etc. Rain made things worse. “Lord, Here Comes the Flood” - right, P.G.
