Running 16:00 [1] 1.57 km (10:11 / km)
max:114 shoes: Asics Nimbus 19

Wow! My first run since May 10 (3mos to the day). Started on Day 1 of Rita’s Reentry Interval Program. First did a good session of calf stretches. Then walked to FRPark and used the green terrain to do: 5 min walk + 3x (1min run + 1 min walk) + 5 min walk. Did not feel any pain at all! My leg running muscles were totally asleep and then gradually remembered what they were supposed to do! Walked back home, then rolled my feet. I think I need to buy a new pair of running shoes. I feel that mine are a bit squishy. We shall see...

XBX Fit 450 Program 55:00 [3]

Finally had enough juice to try a workout, but am still nauseous and have some chills. Oh well, it felt good to get in some weights and stretching. “I Smile and Wave”. Muscles felt dry. Now to rest.

Feel really awful today: headache, mild nausea, heavy fatigue. Slept about 10h last night. Laying low for the day. Thought I might try an XBX later in the afternoon.
5 PM

After walking Hazel I realized that doing a workout is a bad idea. I just don’t feel well enough. :(

Wednesday Aug 7 #

9 AM

Cycling 1:19:24 [3] 30.2 km (2:38 / km)
ahr:119 shoes: Shimano WR61 clip-ins

Nice ride out to the Scientists neighbourhood with Francis. Coolish, but muggy. Legs were tired. We did a couple of random interval pick-ups, but kept it moderate for the most part.
3 PM

Feeling really tired and a bit nauseous. Cancelled a walk with Sandra. Seem to be getting these weird headaches. Caffeine fix needed?

Tuesday Aug 6 #

8 AM

Walking 1:22:56 [4] 9.25 km (8:58 / km)
max:116 shoes: Salomon Speedcross 4 (7W)

Brisk walk to the bench and back. Had to stop at the lollypop spot! Fastest km so far at 8:44! More humid today, so glad I went early-ish. The river was absolutely calm. Saw the white morph heron fishing at the creek outflow spot.

Monday Aug 5 #

1 PM

Yard work 2:35:00 [3]
shoes: Merrell Ventilator-types

Considered today a ‘day off’ from the usual cardio activities, as I was pretty tired after the back-to-back longish bike-walk-bike sessions over the last three days. Had a nice family excursion to our fossil-hunting spots across the river. Saw some amazing stromatolites and found some good trilobite and brachiopod fossils. Beautiful conditions for this activity.
Today was a good day to do some intense yard work, as it was dry and gorgeous. Major tidy-up in the front yard gardens, then intense digging and building the ‘Panama Canal’ drainage spot in the back. Lots of arm and leg (and core!) work as I completed the project.

Sunday Aug 4 #

9 AM

Cycling 1:55:56 [4] 40.67 km (2:51 / km)
shoes: Shimano WR61 clip-ins

Bike with Francis up to Lac Pink and a bit beyond. Hit the Parkway at P3 and took to the hills. On the way back, we opted for the path through the woods at P3 and followed the usual way home. Lots of folks out enjoying the comfortable, dry temps. The Lac Pink Hill was easier this time!
2 PM

Yard work 1:20:00 [2]
shoes: Merrell Ventilator-types

Digging and weeding. Dynamic stretching!
