Walking (Mall walk) 41:13 [3] 5.15 km (8:00 / km)
ahr:93 max:142 shoes: Salomon Speedcross 4 (7W)

Power-walk at Bayshore Mall. Not as gross as it sounds haha! Ran the stairs when changing floors. Perfect flat surface for walking so I could ensure proper foot mechanics. LF only started feeling ‘worn’ at around 4.5 km. Passed many new walking friends (!) including an old tough-looking outdoorsy dude power-walking with a backpack!! Serious Senior Walker Gang stuff goin’ on at the mall, I tell ya!! New Marvel store on the first floor looks interesting :)

XBX Fit 450 Program 55:00 [3]

Really good session with the heater on full blast (and The Way Back Up playlist) to keep me warm and motivated!

Thursday Feb 13 #

3 PM

Walking (Power-snow walk) 15:24 [4] 1.5 km (10:16 / km)

Power-walk home from Queensway transit station after mentoring at Earl of March SS. Deepish snow, hard footing. Glad I was wearing proper boots (Keens) for this!
5 PM

Housework (Lifting/Carrying) 3:30:00 [3]

Heavy-duty carrying heavyish stuff up and down the stairs (‘stairrying’ intervals) as I moved things back into place in the workshop. Whew! LF was feelin’ it by about 2.5 h.

Wednesday Feb 12 #

XC skiing (Classic) 1:42:20 [3] 14.35 km (7:08 / km)
shoes: Solomon Vitane Combi Pilot

P5 start with Francis and Andrew. Francis and I went north to Pingouin, then took Ridge Road and did a big loop that followed #1 to the Fortune Pkwy, then to P10, over to P9, to P8, then to P5. Beautiful sunny day, lots of friendly people along the way. A bit of a wind in the open sections, but gorgeously serene in the woods.

11 AM

XC skiing (Skate ski) 56:32 [3] 9.16 km (6:10 / km)
ahr:89 max:124 shoes: Solomon RS Vitane

Nice ski with Francis along the SJAM from Remic Rapids . Usual back-and-forth path with a couple of laps around the Kitch woods and the upper Remic hill loop too. Very mild (-5C), no wind, slowish snow in sections. Had a nice chat with Groomer Dave and his son :)

Sunday Feb 9 #

12 PM

XC skiing 1:13:43 [3] 9.42 km (7:50 / km)
ahr:91 max:130 shoes: Solomon Vitane Combi Pilot

Took the Parkway route with Francis from P2 (Cité-des-Jeunes) to the Pink Lake lookout. Kept going until we hit the turn-off to #35, then to #15. Stayed on the #15 loop and made our way back to P2. Andrew did an alternate route. All in all, a gorgeous day, in spite of the dire warnings about cold temps and frostbite. We had to layer down just 15 min or so into the ski!
Sunshine, perfect kick wax (blue for me), and beautiful trails in the woods. Fairly busy, but hey it’s Sunday :)
Felt I had a good rhythm, speed, and technique today, but good ol’ LF started getting my attention at around 8k. Oh well, more stretching and foot strengthening in order :)
