XC skiing (Skate) 47:40 [3] *** 8.36 km (5:42 / km) +77m 5:27 / km
ahr:71 max:111 shoes: Solomon RS Vitane

Wonderful skate ski on the Western Winter Trail. Perfect conditions all ‘round: grooming of track, human density, sun, temp (-12C with -18C w/c). Worked a lot on technique: efficient weight transfer, poling on each stride, stride recovery form.
Best skate ski so far this winter!

Snow Management 1:10:00 [3]

Full property clean up of the remainder of snow that fell, plus re-distribution of snow piles in anticipation of more to come. Redefined the Haze Maze too. Lots of work!!!
10 AM

XC skiing (Classic Skin) 58:49 [4] 8.0 km (7:21 / km) +37m 7:11 / km
ahr:101 max:135 shoes: Rossignol X-8 Classic boots

Beautiful sunny ski with Francis along the SJAM. Fresh snow, fresh tracks, fresh air... it was a really re-freshing outing!
Kind of did intervals as we sped up to pass potatoes in the tracks. Went from Remic to Booth, and had fun on the little double-bump hill behind the War Museum. Did a loop around the wooded area between the Remic parking lot and the SJAM.
Really fun but tiring workout for me. Was skiing on fumes by about 4 km - no glycogen left to burn -_-
5 PM

Yoga 20:00 [3]

2 PM

Walking 30:56 [4] 3.33 km (9:17 / km) +26m 8:56 / km
ahr:120 max:149 shoes: Merrell Moab

Very brisk walk to Chapters Pinecrest to pick up an order. Walking on snow-packed trails was a bit sloggish, as the snow was slippery and squishy. A good warm-up for my walk with Hazel :D
8 PM

Snow Management 31:00 [3]

Major snowfall, with a speed work-out snow-clearing to move the new 6-8 inches of powder. Still snowing while we were working...

Monday Jan 25 #

XC skiing (Classic Skin) 1:02:11 [3] 7.6 km (8:11 / km) +63m 7:51 / km
ahr:94 max:138 shoes: Rossignol X-8 Classic boots

Snow was falling, no wind, -13C. Francis and I tackled the poor tracks at Shirleys (better on the river!) while Andrew went for a run. Moved my bindings to +1 to see how that felt. So-so, more grip for sure but the tracks were so crummy, it was hard to tell!

Sunday Jan 24 #

11 AM

Running 37:22 [3] 6.25 km (5:59 / km) +51m 5:45 / km
shoes: ASICS Gel Kayano 25

Big Square plus a toodle around the streets near FRP. Very cold day (-15C with -23C windchill) but sunny :)
Good footing on the roads - lots of crushed-gravel-dust put down by the City.
12 PM

Strength & Stretch 30:00 [3]

Post-run strength + knee + yoga stretching.
