South side of the KZM to the Uni-Lego ‘hood. Humid! 17C, and the WeaNet says the humidity is 96%… so does that mean it’s almost raining? Invisibly raining? Or am I running through an ‘air-lake’? Gleeps it was hot and sticky. You could say it was glunky.

Paddling (Canoe Wee Jock) 2:10:56 [3] 12.32 km (10:38 / km) +5m 10:36 / km
ahr:83 max:115 shoes: NRS Arroyo Wetshoe

Francis and I set out from Black Rapids Lock and headed south along the Rideau River to just past the Strandherd/Earl Armstrong Bridge. Nice sunny warm day on the water. Lots of geese hanging around on people’s docks and lawns. It got busier on the water as we approached the bridge, with lots of people on SUPs and in kayaks near the Chapman Mills Conservation Park. Cute to see a couple of dogs on the SUP with their owner :) Only saw one Painted Turtle sunning on a rock.
Nice to be on the water and getting used to Wee Jock some more, with snack-in-the-boat and ‘hupping’ the paddling side every 1k. Not our favourite paddling route, though, as too close to the road and too many humungously ostentatious new mansions built where a couple of modest little homes or cottages used to be. A true sign of the times we’re living in these days.
