Orienteering race (Race) 1:11:00 [5] **** 6.8 km (10:26 / km) +285m 8:38 / km

Velikonoce ve skalach a.k.a. Prague Easter, Stage 2. A wonderful race in one of the Czech Republic’s finest terrains. Excellent route choices, especially the longer ones, unfortunately coupled with a disastrous performace in the control areas. Trailed the leader by 12 minutes already by control 4 - hopped from rock to rock around the controls like a child and couldn’t find anything for s***. Successfully battled a desire to abandon, recovered somewhat in the second half, but generally a performance to forget. Over-motivated / underperforming

Orienteering race (Race) 39:23 [5] **** 4.4 km (8:57 / km) +108m 7:58 / km

Velikonoce ve skalach a.k.a Prague Easter, H45B, Stage 1. Felt strong physically and could’ve - should’ve, really - finished in the top 5 instead of somewhere in the middle of the pack. The problem was the “fine print” - the map contained lots of minute detail which I simply could not decipher. The rocks were mapped well, as is habitual for this type of race, but I need to start carrying a magnifying glass ... A lost opportunity.
