COC Long, Course 1!!

Well, this was the highlight of the weekend for me - shadowing Clara on F10.
She did a fine job, and really only messed up on one control where she took a wrong trail and started up a mountain. It took her a few minutes to realize this was the wrong way, backed up to her last control and was fine after that. I stayed back about 20m so she wasn't tempted to ask me questions, and it worked out well.
We lost about 5 minutes when we stopped to clear out a patch of perfectly ripe raspberries along the trail - well worth it!

I was registered to run an open course as I figured that the M35 course would be too long for me. But I missed the start window as Clara was out quite long.

We had a great weekend. The kids had a fun time and are excited to travel to events again, so that's a win. It was too hot, but there was plenty of shade each day, and, well, at least it didn't rain. All in all, a good experience.

Quite difficult and technical terrain. There were a few legs there that I'm quite proud of, and of course many that were disappointing. #3 was terrible - side-hilling is tough, and it took me 20 minutes or so to find this one.
Very, very hot out there, too. I can do better!
