1 PM

Mixed trail road running 41:11 [2] 9.02 km (4:34 / km) +104m 4:19 / km
ahr:160 max:186

Run from Finzean on the nearby trails, nice and easy. Quads feeling a lot better.

Saturday Nov 18 #

8 AM

Mixed trail road running 32:18 [2] 6.4 km (5:03 / km) +92m 4:42 / km
ahr:137 max:152

Decided to go for an easy run on the nearby trails instead of the parkrun as the legs were still pretty achy... nothing to be earned pushing it when it doesn't feel right. It was fine running easy though.
11 AM

Mountain biking 2:26:59 [2] 30.54 km (4:49 / km) +532m 4:26 / km
ahr:136 max:162

Mountain biking from Finzean with Robbie and his friends, easy to make sure everyone is following. Pretty cold day with a strong headwind on the way out. Some steep sections before turning back where I just had to walk and push the bike. We saw a mountain hare near the top of the trails, so cute! All downhill on the way back with a tailwind so it didn't take long to get back!!! The quads actually felt better after the cycle, it seems to have stretched them nicely.

Note
(rest day)

Achy quad muscles from the lunges... glad it's a rest day!

Thursday Nov 16 #

6 AM

Mixed trail road running 31:07 [2] 6.26 km (4:58 / km) +87m 4:39 / km
ahr:131 max:144

Pre-breakfast headtorch run. Nice and easy, everything feeling good. The peroneus muscles seemed a bit stiff after but that disappeared quickly.
12 PM

Note

Funny story... overloaded the quads a little bit doing side lunges for a warm up video...

Turbo trainer 40:00 [2]

Both cross trainers busy when I got to the gym, damn! Had to settle for the stationary bike.

Tuesday Nov 14 #

11 AM

Trail running 40:31 [3] 8.02 km (5:03 / km) +33m 4:57 / km
ahr:136 max:165

Starting from Aboyne, 20min along the deeside line (then 2min walk)+8*200m and finished with a 5min jog cool down.
No problems with the ITB. Went into the 200m relaxed and focused on the form (circular feet, high knees..) - so they were not super speedy but I still put a decent amount of effort into each one. Last one 50m short because I got to the end of the path earlier than I thought but never mind. Legs feeling good in the run beforehand too, they were in that sort of tempo mood again - they better feel the same on Saturday!

Cross trainer 30:00 [2]

Sorryyy I think I used up all my willpower at the weekend and I was feeling a bit restless this morning so I thought an easy 30min on the cross trainer wouldn't hurt... Just to earn my lunch and a piece of that delicious ginger cake Robbie's mum made...
8 PM

Strength and conditioning 30:00 [1]

No drills tonight so core + glutes exercises at home instead.
