Orienteering 2:04:57 [3] 10.91 mi (11:27 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Speedgoat 5 (Red/Gray/Gre

Score-O at Tyler State Park (2 hours).

Planned on the course being clearable, and it was very much not so but I didn't want to admit it until 80 minutes in. I got tired too quickly from trying to make up time on the roads and trails. It was a really nice layout and I wish that I had set up a route that was more strategic. I ended up doing 60% of my route as planned with a small hiccup or two along the way before missing a control that was tough to spot because I didn't have time to go back and look. The same thing happened on the next one, and then I just booked it back to the finish but chose to stop to get one more, which I completely botched. My route back wasn't great either, but I'll blame that on the two maps and my bad memory of which route was quickest to the finish.

In the end I hobble across the finish 5 minutes late, losing 50 points and dropping down to 9th. Had I found the two points that I walked right past I would have had the 2nd highest raw score. It seemed like everyone's plans got blown up so no one did exceptionally well. Despite that it was still lots of fun.

Run 31:03 [2] 3.5 mi (8:52 / mi)

Nice, easy recovery run. Kept feeling like I was going faster than it felt. I've been very sore and tired since Saturday's race, and my body welcomed the rest.
