slept:5.0 shoes: New Balance 608v4

Absolute gasser of a workout in Mil Move. Clinch climb (0 points), then two diving rolls (1 point - earned 5 but they docked me because my knees weren't together), then a diagnostic IOCT. I got 5:30. I was exhaused, let's blame it on the blood loss yesterday...

Note

As I write this, it's 2311 and I'm still working on homework. I've had much too busy of a day today for a run; for some reason today was nonstop busy. Tomorrow I know I will have time. Tomorrow's the day.

Introduction to the IOCT, first time running most of the events. Last 8 minutes were spent running it through and through.

2 minutes of running plus release push-ups, squats, and retraining for flank vaults.

Note

Garmin 620 should be arriving in the mail tomorrow. I'll christen it with a hearty interval run tomorrow if West Point processes it quick enough. I may need to replace my running shoes soon actually, they're ripping at the right toe.

But most importantly: I will be updating my AttackPoint every day now. I know that's something I struggled with before I left for CBT (sorry Greg) but I am convicted that I will now. Now that I'm in the rhythm of the academic year I have no excuses, and will continue to foster the mental side of training as well as the physical.

Upper Body (Push-Ups) 10:00 [3]

Push-up reps: 40, 30, 20, 30 (unable to exceed 30 on that last rep).

Note
slept:16.0 (rest day)

First day in two months that I got to sleep in for. Including the nap, over the span of 24 hours I slept for 16 hours. Worth it.

Run (Morning PT) 16:00 [2] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi) +14m 7:50 / mi
shoes: Asics GT-3000 5

Quick run. Some sweat, some fun. It was humid.

Upper Body (Abs / Pecs) 15:00 [5]

Push-up pyramid with a group of 8, started with 1 and climbed to 8, then descended back down to 1. Front-leaning rest while everyone else did that iteration of the pyramid. Then switched to 5 minutes or so of just sit-up reps. Pushed myself hard.

Run race (Tryouts) 30:00 [4] 4.5 mi (6:40 / mi) +200m 5:51 / mi
shoes: Asics GT-3000 5

I don't remember the exact distance or time, but last day of orienteering tryouts showcasing a steep climb to Stony Lonesome and back. Felt great going up, started faltering on the way down. Overall, pretty bad finish relative to the other guys trying out due to the odd bloated feeling while running downhill.
