First time I've sweat consistently in this class. Squats galore, hot enough outside to actually affect me for once.

Adequate run. Made a few mistakes but was mindful to minimize the time lost once I realized I was making a mistake, which I think had a pretty big impact.

1-2: slow and off trail because the trail was muddy
5: slightly off with compass, 15 seconds
7: a little hesitant
8: this area was a lot more vague than the map suggests. Double checked the building as a result, cost me maybe 1:00.
9-12: solid compass work. Hesitated at 11 for 20s at most.
13: attacked too early, at the start of the trail bend rather than midway. Lost 1:30 at most when I realized it. Could've been a minute or two worse but I slowed down and minimized the mistake.
14: surprised this was the quickest split, others probably made mistakes. When crossing the last trail I saw the clearing to the north and thought for a brief second that it was the clearing to the south, cleaned it up after that. Was on top of the control but didn't see it. Mistakes totaled to maybe 1:00, better route choice leaving the trail would've saved an additional 30-45s.
17-18: didn't push as hard as I could've. 15-30s.

All said and done, 4:15 lost to mistakes, maybe 1:30-2:00 on route choice, maybe 2:00 on not running as hard as I could. Interesting little map, good mix of vegetation reading, open compass work, and quick route choices like a short middle or forest sprint.

25 minute warmup, 8x23s up 15% hill w/ 37s jog down, 25 minute cooldown. Feeling good, but I tried varying my stride to make sure it was balanced.
