Orienteering race (SA - Lac Beauchamp) 1:51:03 [0] 11.62 km (9:33 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Trail Talon 250

Chose the long today to get more exercise, and with civilization on all sides I couldn’t somehow end up in the middle of nowhere. Some good legs, some ok legs, some full on wacky legs. I find it entertaining watching RG and seeing the little dot traipsing about in completely the wrong direction… always good for a chuckle. Got some real good pant soakers while traipsing my way through quite a few of the small marshes, past knee level anyway. Great weather and a very enjoyable o-outing despite my many glitches.

Orienteering race (SA - Lansdowne) 27:09 [0] 3.91 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Brooks

Great event at Lansdowne Park today for World Orienteering Day! Thanks to the organizing team and all the volunteers!

Fun sprint map through pretty neat urban scenery, with a wee bit of forest running in there too.

An enjoyable outing in perfect spring weather. However, majorly lost my concentration near the end after a brief stop to chat with another orienteer who was dismayed about a mistake they had made. As we parted ways I lost track of where I was, which building was which, and took a while to get back on the map. I guess mistakes in orienteering can be contagious! (although I had made my share of mistakes earlier in the course too...)
