Sunday Feb 4 #

Orienteering 1:38:44 [3] 12.36 km (7:59 / km)

Orienteering at Catchpool. Also collected controls. Navigation was pretty easy but legs felt really heavy.

Saturday Feb 3 #

Running 19:17 [4] 5.0 km (3:51 / km)
shoes: Inov8 F-lite

Porirua Parkrun: Felt alright but I started to have asthma just before the 1 km mark which made it difficult. Afterward my shins were sore again too :/

Friday Feb 2 #

Orienteering 37:22 [3] 3.29 km (11:21 / km)

Short course after the training exercises. Was a bit tired and sore by this point and think I was in the wrong place for a couple, although most were fine. Went for a quick swim afterward.

Orienteering 1:31:21 [4] 6.89 km (13:16 / km)

Training at Hydrabad: Mostly control picking with a corridor as well. There wasn't anything to mark the controls so I had to slow down lots to be sure I was in the right spot. After stopping at the end of the first group my shin was quite sore for some reason which slowed me down a bit, along with the many branches and plants that made the ground slow to run on. Did pretty poor on the corridor managing to turn to late and hit the road twice.

Thursday Feb 1 #

Running 50:00 [5] 6.9 km (7:15 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 270

Warmup + hill intervals. 5 lots of 3:00 going up a bush track, then 2:30 back down. Made it to the flax clearing each time with one slightly further and once extending the time so I could reach it. Legs felt a bit tired after

Tuesday Jan 30 #

Running 1:00:28 [3] 8.85 km (6:50 / km)
shoes: Inov8 F-lite

Harriers: The usual drills for 30 minutes then did intervals, 3x(6x(45s on, 45s off). The first set I did at a pretty fast pace, (3:50 per km including the easier pace bits) after which my calf started to feel a bit tight and sore, so I slowed down and stretched a little.
