Orienteering race 1:42:01 [5] 12.8 km (7:58 / km)
shoes: Ice Bug

Söderhamns OK Classic. One of the rockiest areas I have ever run in. Some open areas of rocky ground were 200x500m! Some really great hills with cliffs, small gullies and boulders. Tough physically and technically. I lost about 7'20 over 6 controls. 24th and 15'39 behind Mats Troeng. Not great but given that I tend to struggle in this stuff I was satisfied not too make any mistake more than 1'30. A couple of times I stopped just before the control because it didn't quite look how I expected. Gels at 32 and 63 min.
I had a nasty blister on my heel and the end, a sore knee from falling in a few holes and jarring it plus a sore back after my sholder got pushed back by a tree as I fell over. Felt like I'd volunteered to be Tyson's sparring partner for a day. Decided not to run the middle distance on saturday after a solid 28km in 2 days.

Running - road warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Ice Bug

Warm up for the race. I was cold and wet at the end so I went to the shower pretty much straight away. It was only 6 degrees so it wasn't the sort of day to stand around too long after the run.

Orienteering race 1:26:44 [5] 15.2 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: Ice Bug

Rehns BK Classic race. Fast open depression terrain with quite a few tracks. 20th place, 14'52 behind Mats Troeng, who won by 4min in a pretty good field. I ran quite well, one 45sec mistake. I think I was a bit tired from previous training because I think I should have been able to go a bit faster. I probably should have gone out harder as I still felt strong at the end. My splits for the last 20min are better than during the rest of the race. I had a gel at 25min and just over 60min.

Running - road warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Warm up and warm down for the race.

Travel day to get up to the Junior Cup races. Nearly 800km north!

Orienteering 1:04:25 [4] 10.2 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Ice Bug

Club training race from the clubhouse. I felt really good tonight, good running and navigation. I lost perhaps a minute on the second last which was also the hardest control, probably needed to look at the map a bit closer.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Ice Bug

School training. Terrain recovery run. Collected up the tapes from an earlier training. We didn't have any maps left so it was a bit of a challenge to remember where they all were.

Strength 45:00 [3]

strength training at the club gym. Feeling some improvement from last week.

Cycling - road 2:15:00 [3] 70.0 km (1:56 / km)
shoes: Axo

Ride with Lasse and Morten. Rain was forcast but that held off until the afternoon. We rode south from Nybro, a few different roads to where I normally go. It was a nice change to ride with other people.

Orienteering race 14:03 [5] 3.1 km (4:32 / km)
shoes: Brooks Racer ST

District Sprint Championships. Second win for the year but it wasn't a full strength field without David Andersson and the rest of the IKHP army. I was actually 3rd fastest on the course, 16sec behind Patrick Karlsson (probably the best junior in the world in Sprint) and 53 behind Jakob Lööf who is from another district.
I was pretty happy with the navigation and running, better than my previous district sprint races.
I got a cordless vacuum as a prize, not the best timing, could have done with it 3 years ago.

Running - road warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Racer ST

Warm up and warm down for the race. My lower back, left side has been really sore and stiff since monday but it seems to be at its best once warmed up. I could hardly move when I got out of the car at home.
Had the same problem in Spain, could be to do with sitting in the car after training without warming down and stretching enough.

Running - road 45:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Structure

Run to the clubhouse and back for the strength training.

Strength 45:00 [3]

Two sets at the club gym.
