Swedish long/classic selection race. I lost a bit of time early, 30-40sec on 3 and 2'30 on 4. Had a Rikard Gunnarsson for company for a bit through the spectator control. I was stronger on the hills but worse going down. I felt pretty flat through the butterfly loops, completed after about 90min. Started to feel better after that and felt relatively good for the last 30min. I had 3 gels, 25min, 70min and 115min (I will have to check the splits ). Which I'm sure was a big help. It felt like I had cramping in the outside of my quads after only an hour, not sure if it was from going up or down the hills. The whole of the left quad was pretty stuffed by the end and I could hardly bend the leg. I was happy that I held it together reasonably well, a bit dissapointing to have made the mistakes early though. Need to think a bit more about getting the focus back afte the easier sections.
48th place, 26min behind.

Swedish middle distance selection race. Ran ok in parts but never really got in the groove. I think my lack of orienteering in the last month was partly the problem given how intense the course was. I felt ok physically but I new I wasn't going super fast.

Training course at Furuboda, coastal sand dunes. Didn't go so well but at least it was getting better rather than worse. Found some awesome blueberries at the furthest control.

Club training ride. Got hit by a few rain showers which wasn't so much fun. I felt really flat after 90min and took some sports drink from one of the others to get me home. Felt really cold when I got home and had to dig out the beanie and winter jacket. Not really the session to do before the weekend races. The last group ride had been an easy 80min.

Note

I had panned to do some intervals earlier in the day but I really didn't feel like it. I got as far as getting changed and going outside but that was it.

6x3min intervals on the up hill circuit. Had Oscar with me for a change which helped a bit with the pace. That an the dryer conditions brought the time down to 2'56 on the first and last.
