Training day at riverlands. First 12 controls were compass legs, then last ones were route choice legs run in pairs comparing routes. It was really hot and sunny so struggled with running.

Compass legs went okay. There were a lot of peopleand it was difficult ignoring them all but on the whole my bearings were fine. This bit was not too bad running since it was flat and the first exercise.

Did the route choice legs with Lara (was sort of in group with several others too). We both had some better and some worse routes. The ground was really rough and hard to run on and as this went on I think I got dehydrated and struggled alot at the end. Navigationally I went fine, though once the route was decided it was pretty easy.

After a short break we did 4 intervals at 'race pace'. First couple were fine and pace wasn't too bad considering, but then the heat and everything got to me and I struggled through the third uphill one. Managed to push through the last one alright. Navigation was fine throughout.

Today had some good sessions and it was nice getting back into it. Hopefully I'll get used to the heat a bit better soon. R leg was still sore especially on uphills but didn't feel it too much on flats/downs.

First run back home. Just a really easy loop around the streets. Struggled with the heat. R leg sore behind knee at top of calf, was okay after warming up but still felt it going up hills.
