Chiropractor 30:00 [3]
slept:7.5

Did a lot of work on ITB and where it connects with the knee. Was very tight and causing knee pain. Filo did a great job and has me feeling much more ready for the tri. Not perfect but we're ready to hammer it.

Massage 30:00 [3]

Swimming 32:00 [3] 1.0 km (32:00 / km)

Went out way to quick, got out of breath and went anaerobic. Once I got into a manageable pace things went much smoother. Also limited in speed by people in front of me. Will be interesting to see how it is swimming with several hundred.

Knee/ITB was very tight tonight. Bothered me just walking to and from the pool. Hoping it loosens up by Saturday. Tomorrow's chiropractor appt should help.

Note
slept:9.0 (rest day)

Rest day today, swim tomorrow night at Douglas Snow. Then another rest day on Friday before Saturday's triathlon.

Sleeping too much and would like to get that down to between 7 and 8 hours. Would love to get it to 6 hours but not sure that's feasible.

Chiropractor 20:00 [2]

Very easy appointment today. Said the back, neck and ITB are doing very well. ITB is loosening up - which is a surprise to me given it felt tight on the run last night. Also said the ankle joint has more mobility.

Recommended half squats with no weight to help straighten out the patella. Using the back of a chair for support, squat down half way. On the way up, focus on the inside of the quads. Tap on the muscles if necessary to fire the appropriate muscles. Muscle firing has been off since the original injury.

Running 15:00 [2] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6

Easy jog at Mt Pleasant cemetery. Half on a gravel road and half on the road. ITB / knee started to tighten half way through. Not surprising given the golf yesterday. Will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow. Wanted a short run before Saturday's race. One more swim tomorrow or Thursday, definitely nothing on Friday.

Stretching and epsom salt baths definitely helping. Especially in combination.

Golfing 1:00:00 [2]

Walked nine holes with Chris at Northern Dunes (2 hrs counted as 1). Played a good game (5 over par with a birdie, two pars and six bogies). Leg felt pretty good for the first 6 holes and then started to feel it. All told things were pretty good though. Wouldn't have thought about walking a year ago.

Swimming 10:00 [1]

Open water swim on Hope Bay. Wanted to try one before the quarry tri swim. Yep, it's confirmed. I don't like swimming in open water. Should be interesting to add three hundred people and a constricting wetsuit to the mix. Saturday should be fun.
