I was a whole lot more focused on what I needed to accomplish during the race. Compared to yesterday, I made much smarter route choices and kept contact with the map throughout the race. My bearing was fairly sharp with the exception of point 10 where I missed my attack-point and had to back track a bit. This race I felt way better mentally than I did the day before, which made me a lot more concentrated on Orienteering. Overall, I enjoyed both of my courses and I'm glad to take away a lot of experience from this trip.

Had a terrible start when going to the first control, spent 8 minutes aimlessly searching around for the control only to painstakingly punch the wrong control which at the time I read it as 156, only it was 126... The rest of my race was very lackluster with most of the time having little to no contact with the map and while not planning my routes thoroughly.

JDT/JNT Training. Did the Mistletoe Maze which was an interesting exeperance to say the least. I was very exhausted from the course earlier in the day but still able to complete the maze. Hopefully I didn't cross the red line!

Warmup/ Cooldown 14:00 [3] 1.5 mi (9:20 / mi)

10 minute warmup run around the school halls. Short cool down around the practice fields after strides.

Running 32:03 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (2:03 @5) 3.5 mi (9:09 / mi)
(rest day)

Did a 30 minute run (3 miles) then went on the track to do strides. I did 3x150’s and 3x100’s. Splits were 25 for 150s, and 17, 16, 15 for 100s.

Wednesday Jan 10, 2018 #

Running 30:00 [3] 3.6 mi (8:20 / mi)

A 30 min run looping around the school campus.
4 PM

Warmup/ Cooldown 18:00 [3] 1.87 mi (9:38 / mi)

Eleven minute Warmup around the neighborhood (1.36 miles) . Cool down was a half a mile jog over to the house.
