Actually had a nightmare... by the looks of things so did everyone else though. Made 3 bad mistakes. Course was only meant to be 3.6K but I ran 6K. Took 11 minutes to #1 as I misread a veg' boundary as a light green block of forest further on on my map, mistake due to lack of concentration.
Spiked the next 2 controls, which were quite hard and I was pleased. Then went on to take 14mins to the next control. Basically lost the will to live after that. Messed up #8 as well as I was a bit too high. Managed to still hold on to my win overall. Lost by 10seconds!! this day.

Course was 3.1K, running up in the W16A class. Probably my cleanest run I've had in a while, was really pleased. One minor 30-40second mistake on #5 because I didn't see the control in among the brambles.

White Rose Sprint, forgot to start my watch so started it 1/2 the way round the course. On the wrong side of the building for #1 but other than that a clean run.

Friday Aug 25 #

White Rose Night Score Event.
The first half of the score I was really proud of, ran hard and fast and nailed the controls. Only my second ever night event too! Then there was 2 bingo controls in the middle of green forest and I messed them up badly. Ended up not even finding them! Then made a stupid decision and went the long way round to the finish and ended up late, obviously a tired mistake. Positives to take from the first 1/2 though!

Wednesday Aug 23 #

Pre-breakfast run along the canal and past Menin Gate! Was really hot running even though it was quite early. Had no idea where I was going so had to keep stopping and waiting for my dad to catch up ;) It's not every day you can run in a place as beautiful as Ypres!!!

Swimming (In the Sea) 1:00:00 [1]

Went down to the beach and had a swim in the sea, it was actually really warm in the water! Nice way to end the holiday.

Went out for my first time kayaking with my Dad and it was really fun! Just went along at a comfortable pace and it was such a great experience. Definitely would do it again!!
