FINALLY A GOOD RACE!!
Focussed from the start and made sure I wasn't over-reading the map. Worked quite well and was pleased to take a win. Had a few wobbles at the start as was technical straight out of the blocks but saved it and didn't lose much, just a few seconds here an there.

bad bad bad!! Managed to mess up 1 for 40s not concentrating and not looking at the map in. enough detail as to which bush the control was on. Then panicked a bit as Pippa was 2mins after me so started running too fast to navigate so binned another 30s. Then later on was a muppet and messed up in the technical area, again running too fast to orienteer losing another 40s. Oh well lol.
Evening talk by Kris Jones has gave me some things to think about!

LOC event - kirkstone fell
absolute gorge area <3 was quite hilly tho so I was dead after yesterday had no speed... nav was mostly good once I got into it after a miss at 1 running slightly left of control and didn’t see it. All very clean until 10 with some hesitation in the circle and then too high at 12 losing some time here. A little hesitation at 16 but otherwise very pleased with my nav and compass was very good (compass was my main focus point today on every leg)
