Orienteering race 34:40 [4] 6.0 km (5:47 / km)

Mardley Heath middle distance. I ran Green 4.7km for middle distance practice. Kept on over shooting controls because map was 1:5000, but improved towards the end. Good speed on longer legs.

Orienteering race 48:27 [4] 9.6 km (5:03 / km)

KNC 14 Night-O Tilgate (80s & 90s in under 1hr)
Felt fine starting, having a good plan right from the get go. Had the same plan as Nick B so had a fast battle with him throughout. I made a small mistake at the 3rd to last control so he could get away and beat me by 20 seconds or so. Ended up only 4 seconds behind Stan so pretty happy overall.

Orienteering race 1:25:56 [4] 13.3 km (6:28 / km)

Military event Long-O, Ash Ranges, 10.5km
Pretty long Brown course, with a lot of tough heather and bracken trudging. Good test of strength & stamina. Started well, but lost 2 mins on #10 due to poor off-line compass. Slowed up in the 2nd half, and ditched 3 more mins in bad vegetation at 16 & 17, 1 hour in, as concentration started to wane. But kept my act together in the final km of control pick short legs and finished in good shape.

MTB 43:06 [4]

10.7km
Nice MTBO practice in Alice Holt using an old map. Interesting route choices but lost some time on the muddy, small tracks.

Orienteering race 35:27 [4] 5.3 km (6:41 / km)

Sylvester 5 day, Belgium Day 5
Solid run in an interesting area with nice micro 2m contours, over the border in Holland. The planner was too nice because every leg had some sort of catching feature and more or less the same length.
My speed was good considering the sandy terrain and the fact it was the end of 5 days straight. One mistake, losing 40s just looking for the correct control, one of 3 within a radius of 50m.
Enjoyed the entire week with good running and plenty of varied terrain.

Running 10:00 [3] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
