slept:8.5 shoes: Red Inov-8 Mudlaws

A jog along the Stuc a Chroin course, getting lost on the old race route at the start, going to the Bealach and then heading up to Ben Each.

Felt a bit tired throughout but better than I thought I would feel.

Standard run in to work. Managed to leave the Garmin in the office so distances are a guesstimate.

A run in to work this morning. Felt a bit more human running today - amazing what a good few hours sleep will do.

WHANGIE WHIZZ

Had a terrible night's sleep last night so was feeling tired all day at work and at the start line.

Not sure if it was tiredness, bad pacing or a lingering effects of a cold but by 15 mins in I felt knackered. I was descending well off the hill but by the time I hit the road section my legs felt empty, I lost a few places on the ascent back up the Whangie (definitely didn't have my 'race head' on - when John & Grant passed me I just let them go) but maintained a decent clip across the plateau. Made a bit of an effort to chase down Harrison in the last half mile, but I couldn't close the gap. 20th place.

Not my best race and certainly not operating at full capacity. Still, a beautiful evening and an enjoyable outing.

I was 42s faster than last year at least - silver lining!

Running 58:24 [3] 7.03 mi (8:18 / mi)
shoes: Nike Zoom Span 2

Morning run in to work. Legs felt a bit heavy after the S&C yesterday but had loosened up by the end. Didn't sleep very well last night so was a bit tired generally.

Strength & Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Did fewer reps this time as this is the first S&C for a fortnight.

Jog home after work.

Running 1:20:00 [3] 10.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Similar river-side run to yesterday. Garmin was gubbed, so the distance is guesstimate from the time.
