Run (Moderate run) 1:10:00 [3] 9.3 mi (7:32 / mi) +190m 7:05 / mi
ahr:153 max:172 slept:9.0

A good run out in the afternoon about 1 hour after a surf.
I ate a big lunch just before surfing which was a bad idea, stomach was still a little sore on the run and worked a bit of stitch of to start with. Tried to hold back a bit more and make it more moderate than too hard, felt pretty good apart from stomach and a little tired from surfing. Very windy on the way back but enjoyed the muddy coastal path and could have kept going a bit longer so pleased with pacing a little more conservatively
Also noted the next day that I recovered a bit quicker

Run (Easy run with Indie) 1:00:00 [1] 5.5 mi (10:55 / mi) +100m 10:20 / mi
slept:6.0

Easy run along the beach, rocks and woods from Cayton nay towards Filey.
Had a bad nights sleeps and felt like I was fighting off a cold, nearly stayed in bed! Sucked it up, packed up the motor home and dog and made it to the coast, managed a very short surf in what was very messy and choppy conditions but good to get wet, cold and scared in the sea again (the north sea is bloody cold sometimes!)
Surf and cold water cleared the head, a nice evening sun so decided to go for a run along the beach and around the bottom of the cliffs, lots of rock jumping, scrambling and playing so good for the mind and soul..

Run (Easy run with Indie & Kim) 1:07:00 [1] 5.3 mi (12:38 / mi) +30m 12:25 / mi
ahr:130 max:156 slept:9.0

Very easy morning run with Kim and Indie - along the river bank with 2 x drills at the end.
Felt ok, always a little slugish in the morning but eased into it, enjoyed the drills and they helped ease things off.

5 PM

Run (Easy run on the moors) 1:10:00 [1] 6.5 mi (10:46 / mi) +300m 9:25 / mi
slept:8.0

Easy run on the moors after work with a client, nice and stead with a few strides at the end. Quite wet and windy after the storm.
Felt ok, it was very steady and plenty of good conversation - felt more energetic afterwards than before so a spot on session.

Run (Easy run on the moors) 1:10:00 [2] 7.6 mi (9:13 / mi) +250m 8:21 / mi
ahr:138 max:154 slept:8.0

Easy run on the moors after work - started from Mums house, loop was a little longer than planned.
Help back quite a bit, legs felt heavy so happy to keep going extra slow, strides at the end which helped ease things off.
Had sauges for tea - felt very heavy on the stomach - not used to them!

4 PM

Run (Moderate run) 1:10:00 [4] 9.4 mi (7:27 / mi) +200m 6:59 / mi
ahr:160 max:175 slept:8.5

Moderate run around woods, castle Howard road - muddy and windy!
Went out holding back a bit on previous moderate effort, over all felt this was much more sustainable, still hard work but didnt fade and felt I could have pushed on a bit harder at times.
Didnt feel particularly sprite and chest felt tight, however did feel quite strong and able to maintain form, good run and play in the mud :-)

Sunday Sep 10 #

10 AM

Run plus drills (Easy run with Indie & Kim) 1:23:00 [1] 6.6 mi (12:35 / mi) +200m 11:30 / mi
ahr:121 max:157 slept:8.5

A bit longer than scheduled but it was more of a play around in the woods with lots of stop start - checking routes out for the next training camp.
Also did 2x technical drills afterwards
Feeling good, I think the woods and forest give me energy and being on the trails is so much more fun than the roads and tracks around home, plenty of playing chasing the dog on the sweeping downs etc so all good - didn't feel like it touched the sides energy wise either.
Slightly tight in right hamstring but alleviated when I focused on keeping my hips forwards
