Easy run out with Indie, back lanes and muddy tracks - mostly off road.
Felt ok, nice to have a easy run out and enjoy it with the boy.

Easy treadmill run with a few strides and drills down the path.
Finally caved in and used the treadmill. Good to compare how I went from previous uses, I also find it good to practice form - If I run with poor form then this is highlighted in the pace (I use a footpod rather than the treadmill readings as a guide) Nice easy session once I got into being on the treadmill again..

Found a route that had a bit of everything, all a bit slippy with the melting snow and bits of ice, some tarmac, some deep mud and some grass - good route to use though.
Felt ok and like I had the legs, though breathing felt a bit shallow and I had to make myself try and keep it deep, maybe due to the cold. Also struggled to get my HR high.
Happy with the efforts though, maybe could have not slowed so much between but was missing a bit of fizz today.
Worth noting that I have had a small virus flare up in the last few days so I think that may take the edge off a bit.

Only ended up doing 40 min as weather was crap and we had loads of snow making it very slippery
Ended up going out with Kim who was taking a club session, so there were some faster bits in there too, but too slippy to do anything special..
Felt ok but didnt enjoy slipping around everywhere.

Easy afternoon run, felt fairly ok, legs a little tired and tight in hips.
Also did a slow 2.5 hour walk and 8.5 miles around the moors with Kim in the morning - not sure if I should log that separately?

Warm up on way out - felt strong and ready for it, warmed up with a few strides, felt good.

Targeted a 4.5 section of the route to average 6:15 m/mile. Very wet every where so grass was out of it. Found somewhere that was 70% muddy track and the rest tarmac/path.
Felt solid for the first couple of miles and kept pulling back a bit. then on the 3rd mile hit a muddy track with a very cold head wind. Not sure what it was but I completely tied up and felt knackered, hit a turnaround and just stopped - not happy about it. Not sure if it was just the really cold wind, going a bit fast to start with or tired from the weekend - or actually that I havn`t done a session like this yet other than racing and maybe this is what I need more of - that longer duration but higher intensity. Cracked on and felt much better once out of the wind, still needed to put a lot into it to get to the end. Also noticed that my heart rate didn't really go that high..
A bit peeved about it but then again could this highlight a real weakness that can be worked on. which is a good thing too.

Easy run back into it after the weekend.
Could definitely feel that I hadn`t been "running" much over the past few days and it had been fairly intensive mentally. Felt a bit sluggish but really happy to be out and holding back quite a bit to keep it in the easy zone. Nice run - very wet and cold too, finished with 6x hill sprints which I felt were also needed!!
