ahr:155 max:170 slept:8.0

Moderate run around town - Did not want to run this morning! Was v tired from yesterday, first mile was a bit rough then I got into it - maybe a bit of a shock running on some tarmac again too, second 2/3 of run was much better, legs a bit tired but got into it, mix of slushy slippy pavement, on the road when I could and a very slusshy muddy track so pretty pleased with av pace. Definitely one of those you feel better for doing.

Nice easy run this morning with Kim and Indie - mostly on the road up to a lake - felt pretty good after yesterday though was taking it nice and steady.
Crap nights sleep after snow cannons going off from 3am and Kim overheating!

Wednesday Jan 17 #

8 AM

Run 38:06 [3] 4.42 mi (8:37 / mi) +99m 8:04 / mi
ahr:115 max:139

Warm up and shake out before hill session, then run to find a suitable hill - middle of a snow storm so a bit mayhem!

Run 42:38 [4] 5.15 mi (8:17 / mi) +386m 6:43 / mi
ahr:145 max:175 slept:8.0

Hill session 6x3min up hill - recover back down
Found a use able hill on a footpath - could proabably have been a bit steeper but as it was covered in snow (hard underneath) any thing more would probably have been too slippery - legs felt better after the weekend and it was definitely the breathing that was holding me back. Also did a but of pushing stranded cars up the hill in the recoveries...
Good session all in all, though feel i could maybe have pushed a little harder
2 PM

Surf (Ski tour)
ahr:130 max:154

Easy tour up the valley in lots of fresh snow and fresh tracks - nice!
1 hour up 15 back down 419m climb 4.5 miles

Tuesday Jan 16 #

7 AM

Run 1:27:37 [3] 7.52 mi (11:39 / mi) +589m 9:22 / mi
ahr:139 max:165 slept:7.0

Ran the first part of the race route in Crans Montana - which was after a load of snow - the route is all on pisted roads but very soft underfoot and a lot hillier than expected - reckon the race will be more about the biggest set of lungs and best grip - not really very technical.
Crans wasnt very camper friendly and we ran out of gas so had to come back to France to get the right sort - then went back to Morzine for a few days which turned out better for running - heading back to Crans on Friday - will run the rest of the route Sat - have had loads more snow this week so could be interesting!!!

Monday Jan 15 #

8 AM

Run 1:20:13 [1] 9.09 mi (8:49 / mi) +368m 7:50 / mi
ahr:139 max:170

Easy run out again - though ended up doing more climbing in snow than intended but got some good hills in and did not feel to bad all in all - finished with a few drills which was good to do.
