Still not feeling good which definitely was reflected in my gymnastics. I made it through floor, vault, and bars (light-headed after each routine but I still finished) but I ended up scratching beam because I was too dizzy. I did enough to qualify for states (I only had to show up and compete on an event so I had competed at two meets--the joys of Exel team as opposed to Junior Olympic team) so I am ok that I scratched; however, I wish I could have competed beam.
Practice was a lot better today. Still not feeling very confident for the meet, but I think that I may feel a bit better after practice on Friday. Also, my legs are sooo sore from yesterday and conditioning at practice today hurt a lot more because of it. I keep reminding myself that it's a good thing to be sore because it means I'm getting stronger, but it's a little hard to think about when I'm in a bunch of pain while foam rolling... :)
I didn't get to race at Weston today because I had a call with Greg, Vilppu, and Keegan which was nice to have. We talked about the training we need to do and how to use different computer programs needed to plan courses and look at GPS tracks. I decided that running wasn't a good idea because my head is not feeling great and I don't want to get sick (or at least more sick). There's going to be a bunch of snow tomorrow and I'm excited for the new snow to ski on--hopefully a loop longer than 1k.
80 push-ups, 2 minute plank
Pedestal Core workout (2 rounds, 10 reps each time), Functional Strength Routine (3 rpunds, no jogging), 3 minute handstand (twice), 2 minute hollow hold, 1 minute 30 second side plank (2 times each side), 25 step-ups (2 times each side), 100 heel raises, 100 heel raises with goes turned out, 50 russian twists, 50 penguins
RunningWild was stressful! There were a bunch of times that I clicked on things that I didn't mean to (is there a way to undo??) and I definitely am not used to marking my route like that. I kept recognizing that I was selecting routes towards features that I would see and use but not run to if I was actually doing the course, and that threw off some of my legs... (for those of you who are not US Juniors--this was a training excersise we did using a website where you mark your route choices while under time pressure, which was meant to create the pressure felt when racing)
Tonight was not a very good practice. I was exhausted despite my nine hours of sleep last night, frustrated because I still can't do the skills that I need to be able to do, and stressed because I have a meet this weekend. Hopefully next practice will be better.
