12 PM

Running warm up/down 14:52 intensity: (18 @1) + (25 @2) + (13:03 @3) + (1:06 @4) 2.66 km (5:35 / km)
ahr:146 max:172 shoes: White Arahis

ahr:135 max:147 shoes: Spikes

Tri-meet and I got competitive which fueled me through this. Was behind the second scoring Smith girl for the first few laps and worked to get up to her, past her and was like, nope, shes not getting back past me. Then got up to two Wellesley girls and felt like staying with them was holding back the comfortable pace for me so passed them and then said heck no I'm not letting them going past me again. By the 800 I told myself that I was able to kick at that point during the mile so I could do it again, and I did pretty well. Over 30 second PR so pretty psyched.
Got across the line and Coach Jay said "how did you run so fast?"

Splits:
43.5, 46.2, 46, 46, 46 (3:47)
45.6, 45, 45, 46.8, 46.5 (3:50/7:37)
45.7, 45.7, 44.6, 42.5, 37.6 (3:36/11:13)
2 PM

Running warm up/down 20:50 intensity: (14 @0) + (12 @1) + (12:39 @2) + (7:45 @3) 4.12 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:128 max:145 shoes: White Arahis

Felt good physically on this (legs were only good painful no bad pain). Got in the mileage too.

Note

Watch is really struggling with the hr and also isn't holding charge as well as it used to, unsurprisingly seeing as it's 6 years old. Do people have garmin models that they really like? I'm trying to decide if I just want to get another forerunner 235 or if I should get something else...

edit: anyone have the vívoactive® 4S or forerunner 245 and have thoughts?

Note

Had a meeting with Coach, we chatted about how I'm feeling just constant twinges in one thing or another and that I'm frustrated on how that's holding back my mileage. New plan is I'm going to keep mileage relatively low (not sure quite how low yet) but up XT volume to get in more work. Feel decent about that. Obviously I would rather it was more running volume, but any added volume will help to make it feel like progress.

Note

I need a break so badly. I have stuff all day, working basically from the moment I get out of practice to when I go to bed, and so then I lie in bed unable to sleep because of all of the stress of work and then the life stuff that I haven't had the time to think over during the day and it all is just piling up instead of getting resolved and it sucks. Even my weekends aren't breaks at this point. Life is exhausting.
