Sunday Oct 29

orienteering race 1:00:06 [4] *** 5.2 km (11:33 / km) +230m 9:28 / km
spiked:10/13c slept:7.5 shoes: Adidas Swoop
HOC Regional in the Malverns, glorious day and really enjoyed my run. Trying out new Swoops which I had to stop and re-adjust my shoes at several points in the course, sorted them towards the end but they really weren't comfortable at first. Couple of mistakes but other than that running really well. Lost about 5-6 mins in total.

Friday Oct 27

other (ice skating) 1:30:00 [1]
Ice skating in Iceland on school trip, good exercise but got bored of going forewards so started skating backwards, fell over a fair bit though and took one heavy fall on my knee, got a bit of fluid in the joint but not too bad by Sunday.

Tuesday Oct 24

cycling warm up/down 10:00 [2] 3.5 km (2:51 / km)
Cycled down to canal and back before and after run.
running long 37:30 [4] 6.75 km (5:33 / km)
slept:10.0 weight:60.6kg shoes: Asics GT-2110
Easy run along the canal, lovely day for it. Got to bend before Frampton Bridge, was supposed to be doing 5.46/km so slightly quick but not far off. 19.15 out and 18.15 back, so slightly quicker on the way back.

Sunday Oct 22

orienteering race 1:04:59 [4] *** 5.8 km (11:12 / km) +300m 8:54 / km
spiked:14/16c slept:8.0 weight:61.2kg
Twin Peak Day 2 and Interland selection, had an alright run, just not fit enough. Course was tough with a lot of climb. Moving much better than yesterday but still not great - Jo passed me and I just can't run through terrain as well as she can, also not as fast on track runs.

Saturday Oct 21

Event: Twin Peak Weekend

orienteering race 1:04:08 [3] *** 4.7 km (13:39 / km) +170m 11:33 / km
spiked:9/13c weight:61.2kg
Twin Peak day 1, Errwood Forest. Very tough, mostly green forest and tough moorland. Really steep and every time I tried to run I just fell over! Struggled on the terrain, I'm a soft southerner! Lost time in a couple of places too.

Wednesday Oct 18

cycling 25:00 [1] 6 km (4:10 / km) +10m 4:08 / km
Easy cycle from home, was going to go for longer but was feeling quite tired so just turned back after the first climb.

Tuesday Oct 17

running tempo 21:01 [5] 4.25 km (4:57 / km)
slept:8.0 weight:61.4kg shoes: Asics GT-2110
Feeling really tired when I got home from school and went to bed for half an hour, then dad dragged me out and ran really well, think the rest helped! Had bit of a stich for most of the run but just ran through it. Went down to canal, along and back down main road.
other (PE (rounders)) 45:00 [1]
Really easy, inside sports hall so very little effort required, except when batting which was pretty intense for a couple of minutes.

Mrs P-D told me that after half term I can have PE practicals for either catching up on work or for training, because dance and gym would be pointless for me. Great, because it means I'll be able to do some runs from school over the winter, in the daytime when its light and on better terrain (and with hills!) than I have around home.

Monday Oct 16

Note
slept:8.0 (rest day)
Had a rest day, feeling quite run down after this half term, more mentally than physically, cos I've been working much harder and more than I ever have before. Think that showed in yesterday's run. Back to training tomorrow, hopefully get a quality session in before tailing off for the rest of the week before Twin Peaks next weekend.

Sunday Oct 15

orienteering race (green) 48:06 [3] 5.3 km (9:05 / km) +60m 8:35 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Jalas Black FLX
CST final - disappointed with my run, really lacked motivation and felt really tired. Few mistakes as well, wasn't concentrating enough. Wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was in the end though, and at least I was fastest woman on the run-in all day! Need to get my head in gear for next weekend though and work on endurance. Also need to sort out long legs, as I always seem to lose much more time on them.

Friday Oct 13

running race (cross country) 23:40 [4] 4 km (5:55 / km) +20m 5:46 / km vdot: 30.9
Cross country district champs, qualified for counties but really didn't run well. Think the measurements might have been a bit dodgy though cos it wasnt THAT slow!

Wednesday Oct 11

other (tap lesson) 30:00 [1]

Tuesday Oct 10

other (PE (rounders)) 50:00 [2]
Rounders in PE, being assessed on long throws + catching, played pretty well but back started to go.
other (basketball) 1:30:00 [3]
Played alright but back wasn't feeling great, pretty tired afterwards.
running 20:00 [3] 3 km (6:40 / km)
Went up to the golf course for a run with Mum, but felt rubbish, stomach kept cramping up, so gave up after a bit.

Sunday Oct 8

cycling 46:00 [3] 13 km (3:32 / km) +80m 3:26 / km
From home out to water plant at Purton and back - going pretty well.

Saturday Oct 7

orienteering race 52:39 [3] **** 6 km (8:46 / km) +100m 8:06 / km
spiked:27/30c slept:8.0 weight:63kg shoes: Jalas Black FLX
British Schools Score - route choice bit dodgy and really not very fit at the moment - I've got speed but no endurance. Was an OK run but not great really - still came 3rd behind Alice and Jo so realistically didn't have a chance of coming any higher! First podium at a British individual champs - its a start!
C • Congrats on your podium place!... 1

Wednesday Oct 4

other (tap lesson) 30:00 [1]
other (netball) 56:00 [3]

Tuesday Oct 3

other (rounders) 45:00 [2]
Rounders in PE - good fun and got really competitive...Mrs P-D gave points for whoever fielded the ball first. I won overall, beat all the guys who were too busy taking each other out :D good fun!
strength/conditioning (medicine ball) 30:00 [3]
At Cheltenham Harriers with Carolyn, spent aaages with the medicine balls!

Various fitness tests to give benchmarks for winter training, also using for PPP.
