Javelin technical work. One of the parents had a camera and was taking stills in quick succession which was really useful - I saw that I'm not keeping the javelin straight on the run up then releasing it too much out to the right - definitely something to go back and work on.

Warm up again for high jump following lunch break.

First time high jumping since injury. Ran round curve a few times. 5 stride popups onto bed, couple of scissors and about 6 flops over 1.30-1.40, didn't want to push it too much. Feels fine after but was slightly achy at the time towards the end.

Some strength/conditioning work with Dale and the high jump group. Pushing up onto box from bent knee, from in front and side. Didn't do the jumping one! Lunges with 2x5kg hand weights 'round the clock' was quite a good one.

SW Athletics squad final training session. Unfortunately Emma wasn't there - had wanted to speak to her about the combined events. Spoke to Richard and I'm welcome to go back next year as an U23.

Saw Chris at physio - although I thought everything was going pretty well, he did point out a lot of stuff I still really can't do - hopping on one leg, squatting etc. He doesn't want me to start really training properly until I'm balanced again. Need to get a trampette.

He's happy for me to try and jog round the British but less happy about getting back to athletics. English Schools Heptathlon in September is a bit iffy he reckons, and the qualifiers in June are a definite no-no... I guess I kinda knew it before but its hard to be told that - thats my last English Schools out the window then. Will just have to occupy myself elsewhere for this season, throwing and orienteering are alright at least but still pretty gutted.

spiked:16/18c shoes: Asics Gel Orient
JK sprint race. Wore lace up support. Running felt ok actually, just taking it carefully on steps and slopes. Felt most limited by fitness actually - haven't run at all in 3 months now.

Winner did 18 min, reckon I would've been 22-23 on a good day, so not actually too far down...

Went to SARUM national and just hanging around all day talking to people. Nice to see people and get some fresh air, until it started hailing! Ankle felt alright, was walking freely on slightly rough stuff, broke out into a short jog on paths from time to time.

Once round the track was quite enough - hurt more than it did on Sunday. Range of movement seems reduced.

Threw lots of javelin - standing throws but felt good, really nice to do a proper athleticsy thing again, and was throwing quite well aswell. Upper body strength has improved over the last few months I'm sure.

All fine - no limitations really other than one that involved jumping.

again, was able to do most of it.
