Sunday Feb 11

orienteering race 1:09:00 [3]6.7 km (10:18 / km) +200m 8:58 / km
slept:9.0 weight:61.2kg
Regional event on Cannock chase, lovely day and still some snow left. Really stiff and aching from yesterday though and asthma was playing up a bit at the start so I started slowly and wasn't sure that I would do the whole course. I did though, and although it was slow, I really enjoyed it, and it didn't matter too much. Mispunched no 4 though! The only one I didn't check...

Note to self: orienteering the day after a major athletics comp is never a good idea...I find this out time and time again...

Saturday Feb 10

athletics warm up/down 50:00 [2]
athletics race (high jump) 20:00 [4]
Birmingham Games Senior Women HJ. Starting height 1.60 - and I cleared it 2nd attempt so a pb! Had been stuck at 1.56 for 2 years! Had a couple of decent attempts at 1.65 aswell but pushed it off with my hand in the air...argh!
athletics race (long jump) 20:00 [5]
Long Jump at Birmingham Games, 6th so pretty happy, 4.90, on a high from HJ and only 2cm down on pb. 5m is coming soon!

Friday Feb 9

Note
better today, a day at home was just what I needed I think.

Thursday Feb 8

Note
Not feeling that great - had a snow day but wasn't going to go to school anyway...just feeling really tired and run down, and a bit of a cold.

Wednesday Feb 7

other 30:00 [2]
Netball practise at lunch, played fairly well and a reasonable turnout from 6th form team too.
athletics (high jump) 1:00:00 [3]
Went down to Cardiff with dad and did some technique stuff, was training at 1.55/1.60. Jumped much better once I got some speed up on the approach.

Tuesday Feb 6

other (netball match) 40:00 [3]
Netball vs Wycliffe, found out I was playing an hour beforehand but luckily had some vaguely decent kit with me. We played pretty well considering none of us have played as a team since October, I was quite pleased, 3/4GK and 1/4GD. Only lost 23-18 so not too bad really!

All of my friends are ill at the moment and I've a horrible feeling that I'm going down with something else...so leaving training tonight to rest and recover and try and fight it off.

Also got invite from South West athletics squad to go to their next session, so probably will give Birmingham open meet a miss.
circuits 20:00 [3]
Dad dragged me along to athletics in the end, cos he wanted to train! Did full first circuit but was struggling, much harder than usual, so just stuck to some coaching and stuff for the end of the session
