Sunday Apr 22

orienteering race 1:11:44 [4]*** 8.1 km (8:51 / km) +230m 7:45 / km
spiked:23/26c (injured) shoes: Olway Tiger
FCC Long final. Going really well, flowing and running well, until no 4 where I went over on bad ankle again from a couple of weeks ago. Sat down for a minute or so and put it in the stream, then walked the next control - it hurt a bit but wasn't too bad so carried on, I wasn't going to retire unless I seriously had to! Was quite tentative for the rest of the course but forgot about it and it didn't hurt too much, until I finished. Now I'm home its pretty painful, been icing it every couple of hours but don't think I'll be able to do too much for the next few days, and I've got Somerset Schools Heptathlon next weekend!

FCC Middle Final. Felt good and was running really fast for the first time this year. But navigation went to pot completely and messed up most of the controls - lost about 6-8 mins? So pretty annoyed afterwards.

Out from home to Halmore then turned left to A38 for a change. Great fun coming back cos its such a fast road, with some massive long downhills!

Wednesday Apr 18

Went out down the lane to video running style practices for AS PE. Actually quite helpful as was doing work on stride cadence and realised mine is far too slow. Trying to get into the habit of speeding up my strides.

Went for a jog at Stuart's pace after videoing so that he got some exercise too!
