Glos AAA - really really hot and sunny (now have horrendous athletics vest tan lines and bright red shoulders) but a lovely day for it especially compared to last year. Shame about results on the whole:

Discus: 17.83 + 3 no throws (argh!)
Jav: 20.70 or something hideous like that. seem to be getting worse every time atm :S
High Jump: ok, so i wasn't PLANNING on doing this one but fiona persuaded me - scissor 1.25 then flopping off very short 7 stride easy approach:
1.35 o ; 1.40 o ; 1.45 xxo ; 1.48 o
gave up at 1.48, had already won and nobody else left so no point in doing any damage. so pleased i managed to jump without any probs, felt really good and had a lot of room over 1.48. was jumping in jav boots cos i didn't have my HJ spikes with me!
Shot : pb in practice about 9m. felt awesome. then in comp kept just clinging onto shot for a fraction too long, ended up with 7.93 :(

Ok so i wouldnt usually count wii fit but did 38 mins this evening and it CAN be quite tiring at times!! thrashed dad and stu at slalom ski :)

Friday May 9

coaching shot at lunch and a few throws myself - about 9m with 3.25k shot.

Beth R 7.50 ish - looking good. Pru and Lauren hurdling well.

actually managed to get 3 turns out of the cage tonight!

Actually managed to do some decent sprinting tonight, 5x30m acceleration runs and almost felt normal.

Glorious evening, had a lot of fun.

Monday May 5

athletics race 2:30:00 [3]
Shot, Discus, Jav at Brewer Games. Not a great day; 7.80, 21., 22.73 respectively. Jav felt fine but the distance was rubbish. Shot kept slipping out of hand. Discus, 3/4 went in cage and the one that went out wasn't very good at all.

Still nice to see everyone compete, good Stroud AC contingent and most of the Cheltenham training group as well.
