Starting 2015 as I mean to go on and attempting to develop some power again. First weights session in a long time - dug out Mark T's classic winter conditioning circuit, with a few modifications so that I don't hurt too much tomorrow!

Session below with actual in brackets

Half squat @ 60% followed by rebound jumps 12 x 3 (12x2 40kg squats, 12 then 6 rebounds off XL+L boxes stacked)

Situps with med ball 12 x 3

Split jumps with bar 12 x 3 (2 x 10kg dumbells)

Step ups with bar 24 x 3 (20kg)

Back arches with med ball 12 x 3

High knees (without bar) 80 x 3

Bench press 12 x 3 @ 60% (8 x 3 @ 17kg)

Lying knee raises 12 x 3

Cleans 12 x 3 @ 60% (8 x 3 @ 25kg)

Starting to get massive cabin fever after being stuck in the house all week. Feeling better so time to get out. Trip to indy, not climbing very well, hard to tell if Christmas, illness or lack of motivation due to being on my own (probably all 3!)

Bit better today, actually managed to stay up all day and eat 2 meals. Sore throat getting better but still feels like I'm swallowing needles at times!

Awake all night with sore throat. Tonsils raging next morning and signs of fever. Went to doc who confirmed case of tonsillitis. Antibiotics and back to bed. Not the best start to the new year!

Feeling pretty flat, trying to focus on form.

Sore throat coming on and appetite been very low all day - could hardly face lunch. Tonsillitis next day - that would explain the flat feeling during intervals!
