Today was better than yesterday, competition level was still above me but there was some girls more in my running times. I thought I ran the 1600 strong and was feeling beat up physically by the end. I am having a really hard time gauging my run, whether I am just thinking I am running hard or if Im just in my comfort zone. Hope to figure this out soon. Calves and shins are not happy, and in the 400 things were locking up but I still think I had a really good effort and pace in the 400 which was a nice run and a nice change up from the distances.

3000m race-12:33
15 min cool down

Today was pretty disappointing, I went in to the race today expecting great things to happen. I felt like I was working hard, getting in a good effort but didn't push the limits enough to get a result I wanted. Pretty dry track and calves have been bothering me all week but hope for better things tomorrow.

Wednesday Jan 17 #

Cross-Training 50:00 [3]

Pre Act
Rolling
lower Leg activation
20 min barefoot run
15 min elliptical
15 min bike
hip mobility
drills
speed ladder
medicine ball-6lb
abs resistance 10x4
stretches
rolling

This morning went well, I kept up with the girls in the run and had solid efforts on the bike and elliptical, still feeling a little stiff but nice break from the strides.

Running 35:00 [3]

15 min warmup
active warmup
200 m pace-40.5s

I felt really stiff throughout the warmup and my knee doesn't seem to hurt but seems a little locked and not super mobile in this run. The active was a really good effort and the 200 was much faster since after last Saturday's race I have a better grasp at pacing.

Tuesday Jan 16 #

Pool workout 45:00 [3]

Pre Act
Rolling
Okie Dokie ball
6 min swim/kick

rolling
ice bath 10min

Today was a really solid effort. I had a hard time with rhythm in my drills today but still did my best to work hard. The Running A's was really good! I loved only doing one set because my focus was just on each interval. The rest went well but feeling really stiff in the knees and tight lower legs.

Running 30:00 [3]

10min barefoot run
20 min bike ride

This was a nice change, the run was a good effort and not too terrible on the legs and the bike I was also able for a really strong effort, better than on the stationary bikes and was nice to be low impact.

Monday Jan 15 #

Running 45:00 [3]

Pre Act
Rolling
2x glue activation
15 min warmup
15 min steady/surge-1:45/15
15 min cool down
hip mobility
push and sit
stretches

Today wasn't super good but I still ran at a steady effort, I was unfocused and had a hard time with the workout today.

Sunday Jan 14 #

Running (Long Run) 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Pre Act
Lunges x4
50 long run
drills x20
hip mobility
basic strength
stretches
rolling

Today went well, it was cold and tough elements and I was closer to the group than I have been in previous long runs. I truly think I could of kept up fairly well but I turned onto another trail with my shorter run today. Don't feel to beat up from yesterday so I definitely did not run LU vs the World hard enough.
