X country (wednesday) 30:00 [3] ***

Awesome workout today, the recruits came out for the first time. They seem very nice, hopefully they come out next year. Nailed the intensity today, I felt pretty dead by the end of it, but I could have done one more set. Took a rest day yesterday thinking that today was a saturday workout. woops. What a beautiful day.

4 sets of half loop at boulevard lake. fast pace.

Quote/poem- One of my favourite quotes of all time. It's long but very worth it.

"When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say.

For it isn’t your father, or mother, or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.

He’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest
For he’s with you, clear to the end
And you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass. " - Peter Dale Wimbrow Sr.

X country (Gym) 1:00:00 [3]

Went to the gym with Kieran. Started with 5 minutes warmup biking, then 10 minutes hard biking. Hamstrings were very sore after this. Went to the hangar to do some shoulder and bicep training. After that Kieran and I did an intense core workout. Very sore after today.

X country (Pool) 1:30:00 [3] ****

Pool workout is by far the hardest workout. I think I am getting the most out of pool workouts. I will have to practice my front crawl on my spare time. Deep water running was easier than last time. I think this exercise is increasing my running posture dramatically because it forces me to think about my form.

Went for a light 30 minute run in the afternoon. Felt refreshed afterwards.

X country (Surge Training) 50:00 [3]

Good workout today, started the workout feeling great. Warmed up for 15 minutes. Started the workout fast and with a good effort. By the end of the session my surge pace was getting slower. Got a little bit lost on the way back to the lake which caused the workout to increase in time by about 10 minutes.

(sick) (rest day)

This is the Tuesday after training camp. Moderately sore going into the workout, came out feeling refreshed. I have a cold. Training camp was a good experience, met some new people and I love the team.
