Scottish 6 days Auchingarrich

Went out knowing it was going to be grim and didn’t feel prime physically so decided to really slow it down and focus on the key skills.
Took it really slow whenever I was not on a line feature and even then was double checking everything. Stopped at every control and took a fine bearing to make sure I got the right exit direction right. The elephant tracks were there but sorta just tried to ignore them and focus on my own nav. Actually felt like I could orienteer today, Annoyingly this is the cleanest race navigation wise all year even though I did no pre- race prep or even worried about doing well. Ah well at least it is encouraging that I can get the nav right if I slow it down a bit.

3rd Leg relay simulation

Reasonably clean at start but hesitant then couldn’t find flag at 7 (hidden) so lost a minute then after that was pretty good until I took a bad exit direction and lost the place to Pete bray then just stuck on to the “pain train” and grinded out for a cheeky 3rd place for BOK A

Very clean the whole time except 6 where I decided to challenge my self a bit and not send it round the road but instead take a bearing (then got v confused my contours ) and then got burnt up by joe. Lovely area but v tired at the end
