Running (road) warm up/down 16:21 [2] 3.13 km (5:13 / km) +18m 5:05 / km

Having a nervy b about what to wear
1 PM

Running (off road) (Stretton Hills EC) 1:08:06 [5] 9.06 km (7:31 / km) +553m 5:46 / km

Set off knowing this wasn’t going to be cracking. Legs weren’t into running at all after a weeks skiing.

True to predictions, climbs were hard and not using glutes at all (felt a bit dizzy which must keep an eye on). Flat was so so much worse, felt like bambi on ice, legs going all over the place and no where fast.
Could atleast come down steep down hill, sadly not enough of that for my liking!

Despite having pepp talked myself prior to the race that this would happen, finished very irritated and dissapointed. Then proceeded to catastophise that despite having been consistent with running over winter that I’d gotten worse rather than better. Need to get a bit of a grip!

But atleast I could run it, I couldn’t have done any more in the race and was lovely to see my dad and folk so always a silver lining! Hopefully this means now Howgills will feel like a dream...

9 AM

Skiing (downhill) 2:05:29 [3] 13.82 km (9:05 / km)

2,215 descent
30cm snow overnight and warmish conditions meant 4 on avalanche risk to a lot of resort was closed. Headed over to le vallée Blanche, tiny bit of off piste on the way but legs screaming and not making turns well, so decided to stick to the pistes.

A long green, blues and reds this morning
12 PM

Skiing (downhill) 2:20:40 [3] 14.34 km (9:49 / km)

2,024m descent

Last afternoon, skied with everyone this afternoon, cut short as visibility was absolutely zero and didn’t fancy a trip to Grenoble prior to the flight. Stuck to blues this afternoon.

Had the best week ever and have missed skiing so much, no better feeling at all. Defintataly won’t be leaving it 4 years to go again. Now dreaming of working another season...

SO MUCH POWDER!
Got up high early, blue and a red basically first one down to begin then lots of beautiful off piste skiing. Dreamy
Unpisted Black to follow, few more blues and reds thrown in for good measure. Hard mornings ski but one of the best this week!
12 PM

Skiing (downhill) 2:58:39 [3] 24.39 km (7:19 / km)

4,589m downhill

Light flat this afternoon, both tired but got a good amount of skiing done and covered a lot of the resort

Blues, reds and a black this afternoon

Skiing (downhill) 2:11:44 [3] 16.7 km (7:53 / km)

2792m descent
Fresh pow! And sunshine!!! Reds, blues, unpisted black and bits off hopping off piste
12 PM

Skiing (downhill) 3:47:17 [3] 24.57 km (9:15 / km)

4,381m descent

Explore of vallée Blanche, lovely afternoon!
Green, blues, reds and a couple of unpisted blacks. Some hard skiing, one black was narrow and very mogley, and the last red run into resort was soooooo icey! Brilliant fun!
5 PM

Running (road) 24:53 [3] 4.24 km (5:52 / km) +19m 5:44 / km

Dragged kicking and screaming for a run by Nic. Legs felt awful!! Not what I wanted to be doing and totally wore the wrong sports bra which was the icing on the cake!

9 AM

Skiing (downhill) 2:11:12 [3] 12.68 km (10:21 / km)

2079m downhill

Blue bird day! First lifts up onto the glacier, sadly this eats into skiing time with ques but so worth it. Reds and blues this morning
12 PM

Skiing (downhill) 4:52:02 [3] 24.46 km (11:56 / km)

3915m
Blue bird continues! Bit of a ski with the learners then off on our own for a few more reds and blues. Last lifts and the long ski from the glacier to resort. Perfect.

Monday Mar 11, 2019 #

Skiing (downhill) 48:33 [3] 8.65 km (5:37 / km)

1240m descent
Very short ski, moving time less than an hour, probably about an hour and a half-2 hours including lifts.
Weather awful, less than 5m visibility to see Nic in front, winds of 40-50kmph gusts, blowing back up the piste. Hitting surprise bits of powder which was fun!
Very atmospheric but decided didn’t want to break anything so cut it short
9 AM

Skiing (downhill) 2:13:37 [3] 20.02 km (6:40 / km)

3219m descent
Cloudy and a bit of flat light, blues and reds, Nic had a bit of a funny turn? Due to cold hands
