Middles are not my strong point but this one felt really good. Made a bit of an embarrassing error on 5 coming out the control down the hill rather than up but I rescued it quickly. Yet again very slow through the course but happy with most of my route choice.

My running is currently pretty limited so I was taking this weekend as a chance to focus on execution and choosing good route choice rather than speed. Flowed round the first 3 controls fairly well apart from hitting the fence on the way to one a bit before the gap. Decided due to the lack of speed the best idea for the long leg was to go straight. Stuck to the purple line all the way to the parking then lost the direction a bit after crossing the track trying to avoid some marshes. Took the open bit fairly slowly and hit the wall fence junction fine. Went down the fence for a bit then went up and carried on on the shortest route. Everything was tracked out so once I got within 30m of the control it was straight forward to spike. No issues in the little loop after that but I ended up going through some big crags on the way to 7. Only mistake was on the way to the last control because I ended up way too far left but didn’t realise. Painfully slow and I was hurting quite a bit by the end but pleased.

Thursday night event. Felt like a really good run but when I looked at the results realised I missed 3. Kind of annoying seeing as pretty much all my other splits were 3rd place but I was a bit tired and probably could have been concentrating more. Pretty sure I went to the control so probably just went past a bit too quick. Nice to do some fast running on the downhill legs.

Long run to celebrate being allowed out the house again. Managed to do some damage to myself so probably back in the house again for a couple of days. Suspect it wasn’t caused by the run as it was hurting straight away. Will have to see how things are also my hr monitor is broken so the data is wrist and therefore wrong
