Devil's Burden leg 4 : Fife AC's finest hill racing relay in the Lomond Hills.

A blustery day which helped significantly to push me all the way to the summit of East Lomond. Navigation sections weren't too bad (you know, because of my orienteering prowess and all that), I managed to find a suitable route. The struggle came in descending - really found it quite difficult to just run down the hill (a bit of a wimp and need some more practice). A hugely enjoyable race though, I felt strong and comfortable throughout.

Sprint finish was insane. Big up haries for all the support. (And Alex).

Been to the docs this morning : discussed my progress in terms of iron which she said was all very positive and has increased faster than she had hoped. Yay.
I have another blood test in a month to keep tabs - more pills on prescription with the idea to keep taking them 3 x a day for another month and then reduce to 1 x a day merely for maintenance.

Note : feeling okay after last night's hit out.

wasn't planning on running this but fancied company rather than a solo effort tomorrow.

nice and chilled to start then safe to say, straight up the crags was a bit tough. more than a bit. extremely. didn't walk once though (unlike a certain matt leitch... I saw that pal...). good bit of final hill practice before the weekend.

max hr absolutely massive. interesting. no running tomorrow and a wee meadows on Friday with STEPH!! :o

First run out at Saughton - went with Pippa and her group from Edinburgh AC. The coach was so nice & with a background in borders games, he put us all on a handicap so we could realistically stick as a group.
So good to be able to run with people again :)
Where the best boys ran 1200, I ran 850... etc then 600, then 200 x 2. I felt okay like, just lacking a bit of endurance I guess.

Monday run with the haries. Went with the medium slow group. Good fun but tired... Was pure holding on to the front of the group and trying very very hard in the process. I think I might have pushed it a wee bit too hard. My legs are done in.
