I did this along the canal with Matt, keeping on the grassy verge as much as possible. The flat ground didn't quite make running as pain free as I'd hoped so decided to do 60' rather than 90'. It got worse towards the end and my right foot started to ache slightly as my gait has changed.

I did this mainly through the fields. My foot feels much better in more cushioned shoes as they encourage me to heel strike (and perhaps I'm doing it subconsciously to make running more comfortable). On a flat, even surface I don't even notice it but as soon as I place my right foot on anything uneven I get a twang of pain. Interestingly the road feels the most comfortable as even flat, grassy fields aren't completely level.

Unplanned rest day. I was feeling pretty down about my foot issue. I'm fairly sure now that it's Morton's neuroma. Its an electric shock line pain in between my right 3rd & 4th toes. I think it started about 2 weeks ago but the sensation was so mild and sporadic I thought it was something in my shoe irritating my toe and thought nothing of it. It hasn't got any worse in the last week which is good news.

I went out on my own through the fields rather than with the club. I was in need of a bit of a rest, but I felt fine once I got going. I still have this niggle at the base my toe. I'm not too worried about it - the plantar fascia is probably irritated a bit from doing slightly more road running than usual. I'll do some icing and golf balling at see how it goes.

I did this from Edale, a contrived route including 2 reps of Grindslow Knoll at the end. Basically 3 hills in total. I uses poles and took race pack etc. I didn't feel tired or tight after yesterday but the niggle in my toe is still there. It's no worse though. This seemed like quite an easy session and I felt strong on the climbs. Had 1 gel after 90'.

This was a trail-type race but more on cross country-type terrain. Muddy fields and woody trails with loads of ankle deep mud. Obviously it wasn't all comfortable but I felt good and on top of the pace throughout. Relative to my competition I was much faster on the descents compared to the climbs. I was surprised to see that my HR didn't get very high, but I could have pushed harder if I'd needed to. I was over 2 minutes faster than last year over the same course with wetter train this year so I'm pretty happy. 1st women and I think top 10 overall.
I did have the pain in my toe whilst warming up but didn't notice it during the race. I have no idea what it is. Hopefully it will just go away.
