Running (Reverse hilly fartlek) 1:22:49 [4] 10.27 mi (8:04 / mi) +664m 6:43 / mi
slept:9.5 shoes: Hoka Speed Instinct 2

15' easy + 50' reverse hilly fartlek + 15' easy
I did this the woods but tried to make sure the descents were on descent trails so I could actually run them hard. I probably could have planned it better and got more hills in. 50' went too quickly! 4 x longish hills (3-4') and a few short ones. Legs felt good but mentally I could have been more focused on the job in hand. I could have pushed a bit harder.
5 PM

S&C (coordination & posture) 50:00 [1]

Friday Feb 9 #

slept:6.0 (rest day)

Long day at work.

Thursday Feb 8 #

Running (easy) 1:02:25 [3] 6.03 mi (10:21 / mi) +294m 8:59 / mi
slept:7.0 shoes: Hoka Speed Instinct 2

Heat acclimation #4
Round the muddy fields in the usual heavy layering. Physically I feel fine but mentally drained - it was a struggle to get myself out of the house! I guess its the stress of new job/ earlier mornings/ longer commute etc. Looking forward to the weekend

ahr:164 max:176 shoes: Hoka Speed Instinct 2

Road run with the club.
I thought I'd be a bit tired from the weekend still (and S&C this morning) but actually felt really good. I worked a little harder on the climbs but it all felt comfortable. No niggles, foot felt good.

Monday Feb 5 #

slept:9.0 (rest day)

Had a massage. Lots a fascial thickening right calf. Also physio did a good job at mobilising my foot. Feeling good.

Sunday Feb 4 #

9 AM

Running (specific endurance) 6:22:00 [3] 22.03 mi (17:20 / mi) +3056m 12:07 / mi
ahr:135 max:153 slept:7.0 shoes: Inov8 X-talon

A slightly convoluted loop up and down the Helvellyn ridge. Much more snow today so quite slow going but still a productive session and I'm pleased with how it went. I slowed a little towards the end as my quads got tired.
I didn't use poles today as I carried an axe instead (although didn't need it)
Ate and drank well. Feet better in the talons but I know I shouldn't be wearing them!
(I can't get this to sync to strava)
