2 x circuits. I found a good road hill. The gradient varies a bit but it’s fairly gentle all the way. I felt the best I have done since CW and I actually quite enjoyed it. It was hard but more manageable than I imagined. I could well be sore tomorrow though.

I really wasn't feeling up for this when I got home from work. Felt tired and stiff and a cold has been threatening to come on all day. I don't feel i've had much rest in the last week. I set out with an open mind - I told myself if I didn't immediately feel better when running I'd just go easy. I actually ok fine once I got going. I didn't have heaps of energy and it felt unnatural getting up to usual moderate pace, but I guess that's to be expected.

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

Unplanned rest day. It was total chaos at work and I didn't get home until 9pm.

Running (Easy) 50:00 [2] 5.3 mi (9:26 / mi) +284m 8:05 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Hoka speed instinct 2

Quick run up onto the Quantocks. Felt fairly clunky and tired to be honest. Again, more down to lack of rest over the past few days I think. My ankle was fine. Strideouts weren’t great - I felt like my legs had forgotten how to move quickly, which they probably have. I just didn’t seem to be able to move at more than 70-80% max pace.

Cycling (MTB) 1:25:00 [3]

Another MTB outing on the Quantocks with the gang. Pretty much all easy as the others were feeling a little worse for wear.

A lap of Wimbleball lake with family. I was misinformed about the length of this run by my dad. After 50’ my ankle was fine so I just carried on (I could have just walked back if it was sore). Very happy. I felt a little tired but I think that’s down to the business of the last few days rather than lingering fatigue.

Running (Easy) 47:00 [2] 5.2 mi (9:02 / mi) +212m 8:01 / mi
slept:6.5 shoes: Hoka speed instinct 2

Grassy loop around Ashton Court in Bristol. My ankle was fine. Very happy. I still feel like I could aggravate it easily on the downhills if I was forfoot striking (i.e. landing on the extended t.a) so was super careful on the downhills. Still a little sore afterwards.

Cycling (MTB) 2:00:00 [3]

MTB on the Quantocks with Matt & my sister. 12 very hilly, muddy & technical miles. Mainly easy but at times very intense. Good fun.
5 PM

Running (Easy) 30:00 [2] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi) +93m 8:51 / mi
slept:8.5 shoes: Hoka speed instinct 2

Another jog around the Somerset lanes. It’s difficult to avoid hills but there was nothing steep. Legs a little heavy after the ride early. My ankle was fine. Still a tiny bit sore afterwards but getting better each day.
