Running (Easy) 1:13:00 [2] 7.3 mi (10:00 / mi) +302m 8:52 / mi
slept:7.5 shoes: Sense Ride 2s

I’m a bit tired today after a few busy days at work. Could have done with not waking up at 5.30. Nice jog around the fields/woods from home. I’m still feeling really good when running. 6 x strideouts. I was quite cautious on the first couple but then let myself go a bit more and they actually felt great.

Running (Easy) 1:04:00 [2] 6.2 mi (10:19 / mi) +82m 9:55 / mi
slept:7.5 shoes: Salomon Sonic RA

I ran from work with a couple of colleagues who are trying to get fit (!). It’s a rubbish place to run as it’s just busy roads. Good fun though. Initially it was a run-walk pace (one guy hadn’t run done any form of exercise for over a decade). This guy then took a shortcut back to the hospital and I carried on with the slightly fitter guy on another loop. No issues.

Running (Easy) 49:00 [2] 5.2 mi (9:25 / mi) +196m 8:26 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Sense Ride 2s

Easy jog around the fields after work. I felt amazingly fresh to be honest. No soreness anywhere. I couldn’t stop coughing for an hour when I got back, perhaps because it’s cooled down a fair bit and the cold air is irritating my throat. The cough had gone before I went to bed though.

Wednesday Sep 4 #

(rest day)

Back at work today. I feel pretty good really. I had the energy to run when I got home but didn't quite feel it was necessary.

Tuesday Sep 3 #

2 PM

Running (easy) 42:00 [2] 4.1 mi (10:15 / mi) +154m 9:10 / mi
slept:9.5 shoes: Sense Ride 2s

Feeling much better today. Busy morning running errands in Birmingham then stopping by work for a meeting. I wasn't really planning on running but I was feeling kind of good so did a few very easy miles through the fields. Nothing was sore. My legs felt a little heavy on the hills, perhaps like I'd done some moderately hard hill reps yesterday, but in general I felt really good.

Monday Sep 2 #

slept:4.0 (rest day)

We drove through the night. There was a delay at the tunnel so didn't make it home until midday and Matt was late for work. I had a series of naps on the way and when I got home. Pretty exhausted but at least I didn't have to go to work!

Sunday Sep 1 #

slept:6.0 (rest day)

I slept a bit better than I usually do after races, perhaps because I was more sensible with my caffeine intake. Got up to eat twice in the night (I could only mange tiny amounts).
My legs don't feel too bad. I can just about descend stairs one foot on each step (without a handrail) which there was no way I could have done the day after WS.
Really nice day hanging out in Cham and catching up with folk. We hit the road immediately after the 4pm prizegiving.
