Orienteering race 28:08 [5] ** 5.48 km (5:08 / km) +75m 4:48 / km
shoes: Salomon S/Lab Speed

Go For 2 & 5 Western Australia Schools Orienteering Championships, at lake Leshcenaultia. In the M15A, it came down to a running race between Aldo and myself, but he cut through the bush and managed to scrape out alive.

With the map only having tracks and the occasional vegetation thickness change, it should of went down to the fastest runner. I ended up having the longest run as the course was 4.0km straight line and I ran 5.48km, but Aldo cut corners so, therefore, he got the quicker time.
I suppose I may have taken the safer option, but Aldo took a huge gamble going through all the shrubby bush to save time, as you can quickly get off your bearing running there.

Oh well, La Salle (my high school) ended up sweeping the competition as in every singles category we managed to place on the podium.

Bugger, my cetegory was the only one La Salle didn't win. :(
