Easy 80 mins dissecting BUCS 2018 with Chris before hearing back, went out super easy and progressed into it nicely, legs don’t feel too bad.

Grass Running race 36:11 [5] 6.29 mi (5:45 / mi) +370ft 5:27 / mi

BUCS XC 2018 - Came 75th, legs felt pretty heavy and struggled in the mud. Died a little on the second lap but then got a second wind and finished strong. Pretty disappointing, not my best race but a stacked field.

Grass Running warm up/down 16:23 [2] 1.98 mi (8:16 / mi) +25ft 8:11 / mi
shoes: x talon 212

Warm down for BUCS, heavy legs with Rory. Nice chat

Easy 30 minute shake out with Chris around the hotel after the drive down before BUCS then 4 x 15 second strides feeling sharp!

Thursday Feb 1 #

Road Running 55:25 [3] 8.19 mi (6:46 / mi) +578ft 6:21 / mi
shoes: Hoka One One Clayton 2 Kona

High steady 50 minutes with Chris around Bangor exploring some new roads around Penrhyn Park. Great company and a good catch up chat feeling good. After finished did 4 x 15 seconds off 20 seconds active recovery on the road, felt good and still felt I had a good kick so pretty positive stuff for BUCS!

3 PM

Grass Running 43:11 [2] 6.15 mi (7:01 / mi) +156ft 6:51 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross

Easy 40 mins on the school field with Chris after the journey back! Planned 60 minutes but got a small blister on left foot so called it a day to not irritate it more before Saturday. Legs felt good even with the field being pretty boggy!

2 PM

Road Running 1:05:15 [4] 10.29 mi (6:20 / mi) +1053ft 5:47 / mi
shoes: Hoka One One Clayton 2 Kona

Worsthorne loop reverse : Moderate 45 minutes then 20 minutes easy. Moderate 45 minutes done at average of 6:06 min/mile with 800ft of climb covering just shy of 7.5 miles. Then 20 mins easy run home. Legs feeling pretty sharp considering it was a pretty hilly route.

Monday Jan 29 #

1 PM

Road Running 50:34 [3] 7.68 mi (6:35 / mi) +1075ft 5:49 / mi
shoes: Hoka One One Clayton 2 Kona

High Steady 50 minutes on the roads. Opted for a hilly route to test how my legs were and surprisingly they felt great. Felt very sharp today which is a good sign in some pretty miserable conditions
