Basketball (Game) 46:00 [3]

First, had 15 minutes of warm up. Did a bunch of drills that got our legs moving and our heart rates up. Then had a game against Cedar Park Christian, a team who is in a better league and we lost by three to last year. After a high intensity game, we came away with the win.

Basketball 1:30:00 [3]
ahr:123 max:159 rhr:62

Getting ready for our first real game tomorrow!! Went over all our plays, had 30 min of shooting drills, did some layup drills, and pretty good overall.

Wednesday Nov 28, 2018 #

Basketball 2:00:00 [3]

Did not have a happy practice ... Coach took my watch from me and saidd it was unsafe so I dont have my heart rates.

Basketball 1:45:00 [3]
ahr:111 max:155 rhr:63

Today drills we're wothwr at full speed or we were standing around walking through plays. Overall, a pretty boring practice, but cemented the important stuff. AND BOY ARE MY QUADS SORE.

Running (Treadmill) 30:00 [3] 3.5 mi (8:34 / mi)
ahr:165 max:182 rhr:63

Quick 30 min on the treadmill but felt good. My quads are sore from yesterday's run but overall, everything else was doing snazy.

Running 44:00 [3] 4.6 mi (9:34 / mi)
ahr:178 max:199 rhr:61

Wet and miserable outside but the run was fun and enjoyable. My stomach started to hurt during the second half so I took the hills slowly. But started very high tempo (for having basketball after).

Orienteering (Score-O) 58:22 [4] 3.86 mi (15:07 / mi)
ahr:140 max:196 15c rhr:63 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Now this was fun. 18 controls to get in one hour and I got 15 (could've got 16 if I hadn't fallen in the end). I tied for first so yay. Really built my confidence back up after Saturday and it felt great. Fell in a thin lake once when trying to cross so I gave up on bridges for the rest of the course and destroyed my map. I fell on my last control through an old bike bridge and now my leg looks with a camel with it's 3 hunps. YAY CAMEL LEGS. made no mistakes for planning my own route. And overall pretty good.

Basketball 40:00 [3]
rhr:63

Basketball jamboree. Warmed up for 10 min before each game, rolled my ankle the second time which was really painful (got it taped so I could play). 2 10 min games that were really fun.

Friday Nov 23, 2018 #

Basketball 1:30:00 [3]
ahr:132 max:184 rhr:63

Started with full court drills to warm up and then reviewed a new play. Spent the last 40 minutes scrimmaging the boys team.

Wednesday Nov 21, 2018 #

Basketball 1:30:00 [3]
ahr:130 max:184 rhr:63

Full court conditioning drills for the first hour and then shooting at the end.

Tuesday Nov 20, 2018 #

Basketball 2:00:00 [3]
ahr:120 max:165 rhr:63

More going through the plays, some scrimmage, made us run lines, and some shooting. I hurt my wrist and it feels like rolled it so I tapped out before practice. Was going to run today but I didn't :/

Monday Nov 19, 2018 #

Basketball 2:00:00 [3]
ahr:125 max:173 rhr:61

Started the practice with "Mondays are conditioning days" so yikes. Did a lot of full court running drills and had a 20 min scrimmage. Ran through our plays and our zone defense.

9 AM

Basketball 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:117 max:163 rhr:61

A short practice to work on our offensive plays. A little less work than regular practice but still did some lines and full court drills.
11 AM

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.32 mi (9:06 / mi)
ahr:127 max:145 rhr:61 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

I felt really good for the first mile, super excited. After the first mile, my heart started to feel super heavy and my lungs felt like they weren't fully getting a breath in...fine, I'll take my inhaler...so I finish my run.
12 PM

Orienteering race 44:55 [4] 3.8 km (11:49 / km)
ahr:140 max:191 rhr:61 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Well I went to get my inhaler and my dad had driven off with it in the car so that was an oof and I didn't get it until 1 min before I raced. So I panicked a little and I was ready having a hard time breathing. Started out running at my normal pace but I only made it to the first control before my lungs hurt, my eyes were watering, and I was coughing. And that was the entire race, most painful thing ever. So it was slow jogging and when I couldn't do that anymore walking...I didn't have enough air the entire race.
GOOD THINGS:
Always have to have a positive note! I ended up finishing despite what multiple people said on the course. No mispunching! Also the course was super easy, thanks to all my training and national races. Had great route choices and didn't get lost once. Sooooo, if I could've run faster it could've been a perfect course.

Friday Nov 16, 2018 #

Basketball 2:00:00 [3]
ahr:121 max:166 rhr:61

So much conditioning...sprints and running up an down the court. I'm lucky I'm in shape from xc. Didn't make a lot of shots today so rip and felt tired. SO SIKED FOR ORIENTEERING TOMORROW.

Basketball (Tryout) 2:00:00 [3]
ahr:120 max:165 rhr:64

Another great day, felt in shape compared to others. Made almost all my layups and a lot of good shots. Pretty pleased with how I did and I was told that I made varsity so 3rd year in a row...woohoo.

Monday Nov 12, 2018 #

Basketball (Tryout) 2:00:00 [3]
ahr:132 max:179 rhr:64

Tryouts...woohoo!! I did really well, I think. Lots of sprinting today but I felt pretty fast and only got super tired once. Made a lot of my shots, super siked for the season. And my knees didn't hurt!!

Basketball (Lesson) 1:20:00 [3]
ahr:127 max:182 rhr:63 (injured)

Last basketball lesson before tryouts tomorrow!! I can see so much improvement and I'm super happy. Today we worked on ball handling and outside shooting.

Ultimate Frisbee 40:00 [2]
ahr:108 max:129 rhr:63 (injured)

More frisbee with my friend. We worked on our hucks and dishies. Tried throwing hammers and IOs too.

Friday Nov 9, 2018 #

Ultimate Frisbee 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:128 max:163 rhr:65 (sick) shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

A very long game of 3 on 3, becoming 4 on 4, then 2 on 3. Make it take it so it was a lot of running but super fun to play with my friends. It was freezing so it only made me sprint harder. Had some nasty catches.

Basketball (Lesson) 1:05:00 [3]
ahr:130 max:173 rhr:65 (injured)

Started off with some dribbling and pivoting and my knees did not like the quick stops. On the bright side this is the first time my knees have hurt in a while. Did a lot of lay up drills and dribbling. SO MANY PUSH UPS...like 65 or more...did push-ups everytime we did something wrong. Then ended with shooting and sprinting.

Soccer 15:00 [2]
ahr:128 max:140 rhr:65 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

We switched to soccer after frisbee which was interesting because I haven't played since 6th grade but I can officially say I am ready to take on Thomas.

Running (Slough) 50:23 [3] 5.31 mi (9:29 / mi)
ahr:166 max:209 rhr:67 (sick) shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Much climb. I don't like this run because of the hills but it ended up being really fun. Ran with Vaibhav today and although I took the hills slow, it overall felt like a faster run than normal. Super happy with my effort.

3 PM

Ultimate Frisbee 1:00:00 [1]
ahr:106 max:128 rhr:67

Fun with friends. Lots of passing and jumping and short sprints. Just warming up our arms, catching weird passes, and playing defense on one another.
4 PM

Running (Tuscany) 40:00 [3] 4.5 mi (8:53 / mi)
ahr:156 max:184 rhr:67 (sick) shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

My watch shut down halfway through my run so this is all an estimate. Ran with Ryan, who's 4th on our boys team, so this was a very much up-tempo run. Good to run after 3 days.
7 PM

Basketball (Lesson) 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:138 max:174 rhr:67 (sick)

I was so sore so I didn't feel 100% during my lesson. It was hard to sprint all out and I was going at an average of 75%. Made a lot of good shots so I was proud of that. My legs hurt when trying to get low during low dribbles.

Strength 1:00:00 [3] 1.0 mi (1:00:01 / mi)
ahr:130 max:154 rhr:67 (sick) shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Warmed up with a 9 min mile on an elliptical and added 2 units of tension after every 3 min (started with 8). Started with upper body. Then did band work for the legs, my legs are really sore from yesterday.

Monday Nov 5, 2018 #

Strength 1:10:00 [3] 2.1 km (33:20 / km)
ahr:134 max:174 rhr:66 (sick) shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Went to the workour room to strengthen my legs during my SOLE WEEK off from an organized school sport (xc to basketball). Did a mile warm up on the elliptical. Did 3 sets of 12 (if it involves separate legs than 12 each side) of goblin squats (10 pounds), prisoners lunges (5 pounds each hand), and bosu lunges. Then did 3 sets of 45 sec (each side) of bosu balancing. Thought I was going to go on a run but then my trainer told me I was banned from running so she made me sprint instead. So I warmed up with 3 × 100 m sprints at 70%. Then I did 2 sets of 5 squats, 5 squats hops, 5 tuck jumps, and 5 scissor lunges (each side) and sprinted 25 m after every set at 95% (total of 200 meter sprints).
Especially difficult because I cannot breathe.

Basketball (Lesson) 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:134 max:175 rhr:66 (sick)

I played terribly but that's okay...it's all about the learning process. Everytime I got frustrated I focused on my technique and got better.

Note
rhr:66 (sick) (rest day)

Really didn't want to take another rest day but my body feels really crappy. I can't breathe and my throat hurts. I did drink lots of tea and water throughout the day!

Running warm up/down (Warm Up) 18:00 [3] 1.7 mi (10:35 / mi)
ahr:161 max:181 rhr:67 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Long warm up in designated area of golf course. After jogging we did Romanians/dynamic stretching. I was feeling pretty excited.

Cross Country race 25:40 [5] 5.0 km (5:08 / km)
ahr:187 max:203 rhr:67 (injured) (sick) shoes: Women's Nike Zoom Rival XC Spi

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE!! Despite all the hype and excitement, I did terribly. The golf course was just little hills and it was killing my knees. After the first mile I felt dead and the 2nd and 3rd me felt like I was just going through the motions, not taking a risk and pushing it.

Running warm up/down (Cool down) 7:00 [3] 0.54 mi (12:58 / mi)
ahr:142 max:157 rhr:67 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline Gts 18 Runni

Again a short cool down but my team only did like .3 mile cool down and I went a little longer before we had to go get our things from the bus.

Friday Nov 2, 2018 #

Note
rhr:66 (sick) (rest day)

Woke up with a sore throat...bad timing. Left at 10 for Pasco which is a 3-4 hour drive. Got to the state course and walked it to see the general layout. Ran the last 500ish meters to get a feel of where we should kick it.
